I agree Flash.

Vegas69 08-14-2009 03:07 PM

I'd bet the banks appraisals are very conservative right now. Keep in mind that an independent appraisal may be different than the bank idea of value. Money is tighter and that is a custom car.

Flash68 08-14-2009 03:12 PM

I just went through this process with JJ Best about 4 months ago. They no longer do cash-out refi's (understandably!) but they are still doing purchases as long as appraisals come in. And the appraisal is not what I would be concerned with. Hopefully this guy has SOME cash to put down...

tones2SS 08-14-2009 03:54 PM

Yeah, no money, no car.
They want you to put some cash down on the car.

Like I used to tell my kids when they were still in high school.... "No B's - No Keys"

People with no real down payments - like 25 or 40%... are going to find it tough to finance. My buddies (3 dealers) have all told me that has been a real problem for them - they get a car sold - and can't finance the guy. You've got to have gold plated credit - and real money up front.

prototyperacing28 08-14-2009 05:08 PM

no deal!!

Found out later today that we can not make the deal work. The high bidder does not have enough money to put down to get the financing period. I have contacted the second highest bidder (from California), which he had an appraiser come to my home. The appraiser was very impressed with the car, but did relay everything to the buyer that did not look right. The appraiser did not like the fiberglass hood fitment (all fiberglass hood bow), 3 gauges did not work (fuel gauges not hooked up because of fuel cell, car used to have a powerglide in car so trans temp gauge did not work because car has 5 speed, and speedo needs to have 2 wires run to make work), and one little spot on top of the car which was not preped right ($200.00 fix and you can hardly see it). This buyer is still interested but wants to see the finally appraisal on the car and he is going to make his final decision. This guy wants to make this car super nice. He is wanting to install a Detroit Speed subframe, undercoat the bottom, smooth the firewall, put a polished stainless exhaust on the car, put in new leather seats, install a stainless fuel tank, and so on. The guy currently has a 2009 Lambo roadster that he paid $440,000.00 for. :wow: He says he has very nice toys.
I am going to send out a couple of second chance offers to people that did bid on the car and hope something works out. But I am not going to give this car away. You guys know just as well as me what it takes to make a car of this caliber.

WOW. If the dude is seriously interested, he should just buy it. Obviously he has the cash to make it good as new. That is a good looking/sounding car for the money. Good luck Darin.

if it is a $200 fix can't you fix it? Hook the wires up, etc etc. $64,000 for a car is a lot of dough to have nickle and dime stuff not finished. Good luck with the sale. I love the color with the wheels

prototyperacing28 08-14-2009 06:50 PM

69 camaro

I do not mind spending the money to fix the problem that he is addressing, but then again he wants a $100,000 car for a $64,000 price. He is the type of guy that does not get dirty nor work on cars. You guys know where I am coming from. You are never done working on a older muscle car. There is always going to be something that you want to do, or something that needs to be done to the car. These older cars need constant attention.

nuzzo 08-14-2009 07:03 PM

we use jj best some and they require real 10% down and 700 plus credit score

Vegas69 08-14-2009 08:05 PM

They should....I would want 20%.

Good for you Darin.

Plus, being a Lambo owner means he's predisposed to shell out $$$ for maintenance. :P

Ebay

Relisted on ebay!!! Come and get it. Hopefully this auction will not end like the last waterhead that tried to buy the car. Thanks again for all your support. I just wish someone on this site would buy the car so I could at least see the car every now and then. :)

Not real surprising in this economy. My dad has several lines of credit set up for his business and wrote a check for $80k last week and even called to verify that all was fine with using $80k of the credit line before writing the check because he rarely used the account anyway.

They called him a few days after he deposted it in his regular bank account and told him that they were sending the check back and were no longer going to be able to maintain the line of credit for him because their business model had changed. Needless to say, he was pissed and had now closed every account he had with Wells Fargo.

Like I said in one of my previous emails to you about the car, I'll still trade you my boat for it. I don't mind fixing the little stuff. I had already put together a list of other stuff I wanted to do to it anyway.

If you change your mind, let me know, it will be a lot less BS than you are dealing with now. In fact, no BS as far as I am concerned and my boat is show quality throughout and needs nothing. What coule it need, it is better than new!

Nice to here from ya. I really do not know what I am going to do if the car sells. I am currently a mortgage broker and with the way this economy is going I may just pocket this money till the economy turns around. I am still pretty busy at work, but things can change pretty quick in my business. I will keep you in mind if I decide to change my mind. I have been offered many trades from a 2007 Z06 with 600 miles, to a Dodge Viper with Hennsey upgrades, boats, choppers, and etc. I think this car will sell, its finding that person that is wanting a muscle car with these kinds of mods done to it.

:wow: Car Porn.... it must be like the hand of God reaching down and accelerating you... spinning the tires at will, regardless of speed, has to be addictive.
