Let me know if you are interested i own an electrical supply house and could send you a sample of each to see what you like best. The grey i stock red i would need to order but not a problem to get. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks John |

Boy! I sure hope she didn't scuff the floor with her heels!!!
 :woot: |
looks good. it's nice to have a clean area to work out of once in a while.whats moma think about having a model in the garage.my wife would not be ok with this.lol.the first time it gets twenty below and you come out just to get out of the houseand look around you will thank your self for taking the time to finish your shop. p.s.am i just missing somthing or why don't you just paint your outlet covers to match?

As for the outlets and covers, etc, that was just the standard off the shelf stuff when I built the garage 8 years ago. John (Bulldog19) sent me a grey outlet cover to test and it looks great, so I'll be ordering new outlets and outlet covers this week. As long as I'm posting, I finally got the door hardware mounted... which took way longer that I would have guessed. lol Here's some pics. Once I get the service door trim finished and the new outlet hardware installed, I'll be finished. http://www.lateral-g.org/temp/progress_59.jpg http://www.lateral-g.org/temp/progress_57.jpg |
It doesn't get much better than that Scott!
EEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA!! I will stick to my statement though -- that's WAY too nice to be worked in now. Now it's an official SHOWROOM... not a garage... not a shop... and no way would it ever be deemed a shed! :hail: :hail: :hail: |
I like the bottle of laughing gas on the bench.thats a great addition to any shop now all you need is a mask for it. lol.hey didn't you put in a beer dispenser?:D
|
Hey Scott the garage is looking GREAT!! I stock those handles also but completely forgot about them while you were here. Also if you want a filler to close up the space above the uppers let me know. One more time, Nice job:thumbsup:
PS the cabinets make the whole shop!!:unibrow: |
that is a sick looking garage you did a great job Scott
|
Thats awesome Scott! Even better with each post.
|
Are you guys S T I L L talking about that chick in Scotts garage!!??
Geez..... |
I got new grey receptacles, switches, and covers from John (Bulldog19).
It looks much better than the other generic stuff I've had in there for the past 8 or so years. So, to finish up my shop makeover thread, I used photoshop to make a wide angle image. http://www.lateral-g.org/temp/shop_wideangle.jpg |
scott trim out your door.

Great job on your awsome looking garage!

Hey Scott - Once again, you did a great job man. Love the wide angle shot you took. My color scheme is very similar and one thing I thought I'd mention that really finished mine off was to add a black pinstripe where the red and gray meet up. Seems like a small detail but it really breaks two colors apart and gave a nice finished look. I just bought regular black pinstripe tape from autozone and stuck it on. Here are a couple of pics that you can kind of see the effect. Sweet setup you have there.

Thanks.
I thought about breaking the colors where they met, but I think it would get too busy with the backsplash, outlets, 2 different colors, a stripe of some sort, all within inches of each other. I might as well add a few more pics... http://lateral-g.org/temp/wide_cabinets_02.jpg http://www.lateral-g.org/temp/wide_shop_02.jpg |
damn :wow:
|
Your car looks so bad azz sitting there.
|
You have the best garage / man cave I have ever seen!!
Congratulations on a great job! |
That is freaking awesome Scott.
|
He sure as hell isn't doing any work in there. What do you do? Watch tv and drink beer>? Jealous
|
Thanks guys. After working in the dark, unfinished shop/garage for a number of years, it's nice to finally finish it.
|
Hey Scott -
What gear do you use for your photography? Your shots are really good. |
Thanks. It's a Nikon D90. I really, really like it.
|
Wow, great job. I could never have a garage that nice. I would be too worried about keeping it clean. :_paranoid
I would probably have opted out of the flake in the epoxy coat. If you accidentally drop a small nut, bolt, or fastener on a floor like that it can become very difficult to find. |
You know, I thought the exact same thing. I do a lot of work in areas with terrazzo floors in my day job and know what you're talking about. It's like camoflage for small items. lol My first thought for the garage was no flakes, but the supplier talked me out of it for several reasons, and I'm glad I took their advice. The floor is so much brighter now, and even with the flakes, nuts, screws, and other small items like that are much easier to find then they were on bare concrete.

Not sure about the D80, but the D90 has Picture Control Settings within the camera so you can turn up the saturation. It makes the images pop.
|
Great looking garage. I think you did it in the right order. Finish the car and then mint out the garage. I would hate to see what it would look like in there after a complete resto. Did you finish the door trim yet?
|
Scott, How is the floor holding up and what brand did you use? I was playing with a few ideas, either epoxy or ceramic tile. I'm getting ready to start on my section for the Camaro.
|
It's holding up great. It's from Wolverine Coatings and the only place to get it for retail/DIY/non-commercial use is to go through Fred at Alpha Garage.
|
GREAT job Scott!! What are the dimension on the garage please? And what would it cost to have on put up today? I guess I could go to Lowe's and get a quote huh! LOL
If/when I retire from active duty my retirement present is going to be a second mortage so I can build a shop for the FREEDOMBIRD... ... my wife has become much too accustomed to parking in the attached sideload over the past couple of years! LMAO |
