A carbon fender? :hail: :hail: :hail: Love it!

The direction of your build looks amazing, keep the pictures coming.

Paint!

Mick painted the body this week. Interior, trunk and engine bay was painted first, so now we need a few more carbon fiber bits to finish the painting. Suspension parts were all sent out for anodizing and powder coating and should be back in a few days.

Thanks JA! I've been following your Mustang build too. The Rings always do an amazing job. Looks like it's coming along nicely. I'm just glad you didn't choose white, haha! I look forward to meeting you and your car at SEMA!

this is pretty good video of some of the details of this car! i see its using the same front suspension as Ring Bros 69...im drooling over that setup! the rear suspension is equally as cool

Cris@JCG 09-12-2010 08:31 AM

Can't wait to see it done Matt..

Tail Panel

Now that were in paint, we're trying to decide on what to do with the tail panel. Originally it was going to be left white with the screen being black or silver (or metallic gray), but now I'm thinking the tail panel should be blacked out. THOUGHTS?
Original with bumper white too (original rendering had bottom of bumper exposed carbon like following pics).

Blacked out tail panel and black screen.

Viperlover 09-12-2010 06:38 PM

I like the 3rd rendering the best

byndbad914 09-12-2010 08:35 PM

blacked out - keeps the feel of the original Boss 302s IMO and looks best.

legend 09-13-2010 07:46 AM

black inset panel breaks up the visual weight a lot, so the bumpers should be body coloured so there's enough body colour to balance the black

Josh69 09-13-2010 09:10 AM

I like the top one, looks real clean, 'sano' as they say. The black screen will flow with the carbon better, being similar in texture/color at a glance. The silver or gray will clash, IMHO, unless it's got something elsewhere to tie in.

Rybar 09-13-2010 10:28 AM

I like option 2 with the white option 1 bumper.

ssdesign 09-13-2010 11:07 AM

I like option 2..I really dig the high contrast between white and black..
But all three are very nice..cant wait to see this car

PASD U 09-13-2010 01:11 PM

Can't decide. I like 2 best...I think. All three are sumthin smooth.

OLDFLM 09-13-2010 01:12 PM

2nd one... love watching this coming together!

KPC67 09-13-2010 09:39 PM

The first one, looks much cleaner.
Either way it is very nice.

The painted shell made it back to Pure Vision Monday and now the thrash begins! Mick did a great job and I love the color.
Turns out we went for the blacked out tail panel

Here's one of the front seats done by Eric Thorsen. They have a nice European race car flair.

ANVIL1 09-24-2010 04:45 PM

Here's what the back side of the 100% hood looks like. The first parts I posted were carbon/fiberglass which will be for sale once I know we won't needt them for display.

Here are some of the nickle plated jewelry bits.

ANVIL1 09-25-2010 04:39 PM

Doors have been fitted and hood and fenders have been rough fitted prior to paint. The hood is fitting very well and will be fine tuned once painted.

As you know, every little bit counts! I'm looking forward to weighing this car once it's done. Even though it's a big block, it's all aluminum.
