Thanks for the info.

Is this Nova running Speed tech's torque arm setup?

The overall stance is killer!

Blake Foster 11-09-2010 02:55 PM

Yes the nova runs all off the shelf parts nothing wiz bang. we have 2 preproduction parts on the car firewall down tubes that bolt on to the subframe as well as a rear sway bar. both will be available in the next month.

The Torque Arm that is in the car is the same off the shelf part

Horn Blowing is definatly not my strong point !!! so thanks to those who help out in that department!!!

We are VERY pleased with the results.

Chicken Louie 11-09-2010 05:54 PM

After riding in Roger's car and see yours in the build stage, I am very happy that I will be running Speedtech in my car! Hats off to your shop. You guys always answer questions and have top notch customer service! Congrats on the Nova's success!!:woot:

So Now what? 5th place at Optima, cant say how pleased we are with that.
Well we left the car, truck, and trailer in Ca till next week when we will be back to run in the "No Limit Challenge" this is will be a bit less competitive than the Optima, I think???
then we are going to make our wat home and probably stop at Thunderhill on the following Friday to embarrass a whole feild of Miata's lol

Well we finished up the No Limit Challenge in First Place. not the greatest location but we did use the day for some more testing. then we packed up and headed to Thunder hill for another track day, and more testing tried out some new tires we opted for the Falken Azenis RT 615K. what a great tire.

the new rear sway bar is working perfectly and the car is more balanced, here are a coupple pics

strtlegal 11-22-2010 03:58 PM

Killer Blake...Nice to see the NoGo on top...:hail:

tones2SS 11-22-2010 04:40 PM

Flash68 11-22-2010 07:46 PM

that's a good ? greg , Can you use "Killer" ???? i think someone owns that??? not sure.

The car is Awesome, and i hope this proves that our stuff is everybit as good or better than the competition. the car does not have the HP that alot of the others do, it is only 510 at the crank, so the straight away speed is not as great so that does have an effect on how the car finishes, if it had 850 hp like stielos car???? who knows,

i can Garantee 98% of people can not drive their cars the way this one gets driven on the track!! after going for a ride in the car (i am the drag race driver remember that). and the fact that it does'nt need alot of tweeking to get it to this level, is the cool part. we have been adjusting shocks and tire pressure and that is IT.

the sway bar is the first rear bar we have installed on the torque arm, it will be available as an add on early 2011. it is a 1" adjustable unit we mat actually go down to 3/4 but make it more adjustable, still working with Helwig on that part but it did hepl the car out on the big track and didn't hurt it on the short track, we were skeptable if it would make the car oversteer but it does not, so we will be producing them now.

Vegas69 11-23-2010 08:34 AM

It's good to see you really testing and dialing in your setup. That will make it so much easier for your customers to find the balance in their car. I had it with my R888's but haven't found the sweet spot with the BFG's just yet. It takes time. If I had to do it all over again, I'd have the same manufacturer on both ends of my car. After all, most of us don't have the time to really sort out a suspension set up thoroughly. Not in a reasonable time frame anyway. You proving your components can compete is a huge step forward in my eyes. Now all you need is some horsepower. :unibrow:

Blake Foster 11-23-2010 09:26 AM

Yep More POWER!!!!!

Jr 11-23-2010 11:16 AM

Blake,

Congrats on the win.

Where can I find more info about the No limit race?

Please post more racing video of the nova.

Blake Foster 11-23-2010 11:50 AM

The no limit stuff will come out in Muscle Car Power magazine some time in the spring.

more videos from Thunderhill will be up this week just editing them now.

Blake Foster 11-25-2010 03:44 PM

Thanks for posting that pic. ppl really seem to like the look of the engine. oh and the down tubes will be available as an add on to the sub frame in January. you wil be able to retro fit any or our subframes as well as add them to any new ones.

tones2SS 11-25-2010 04:18 PM

AMPCamaro 11-29-2010 03:39 AM

Great pictures! Congrats! Makes me want to sell my camaro and get a Nova!
We are doing a speedtech system on my friends '70 Nova next winter!

Do the down tubes make a big difference? How much will the rear sway bar run?

Bobby

XLexusTech 12-04-2010 04:29 PM

Blake any pics of the fuel cell.....and Trunk.... really liking the idea of the mufflers being way clear of any clearance issues.....

A+ nice ride

Blake Foster 12-05-2010 09:19 AM

The down tubes do make a differance definatly worth it.
the rear sway bar will be in the 250-300 range just working on that now.

i can post up some trunk and cell pics on Monday

BBC71Nova 12-28-2010 06:24 PM

How significant were the tunnel mods to fit the T-56 Magnum in a 3rd gen Nova?

Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind :) This answers my question...

Blake Foster 02-10-2011 08:38 PM

John keep in mind that i am running without body mounts as well and the motor is 2" further back than the normal ATS mounts would locate it.

here are a couple cool shots that were recently taken
