Yeah that set up we got was pretty good. I saw 200 mph in the draft

yeah I spun on the pace lap to much torque in the corvette in low gear.
But atleast i didn't spin out as much as you did. I mean come on there is no icy patch on the track at Daytona. It is in Florida you know.

Let the games begin..... The I racing smack talk is in full swing. hahaha.

So the times you caught that turn 4 icy patch, must have been too much torque.

It's Ok Bob, I know your used to the Solctice on the pace lap..... BBBBRRRRRMMMM.

:D :D :D :D :D :D

96z28ss 09-21-2010 11:53 AM

I did hit a certain spot on the track where I spun out a couple times.
It seemed like every couple laps you were spinnin out in the same spot.

Solstice spec racer is the bomb, don't be hating that Im posting better times than you in the solstice as a rookie. You have to get back in the solstice now that you got more experience and lower your offical times.

ironworks 09-27-2010 05:05 PM

Daytona Road course with the Mustang at 7:30 -8 o clock.

Lino has a set up.

ironworks 09-27-2010 09:20 PM

Rodger Got 2nd tonight, Bob must have been to scared to show.

96z28ss 09-27-2010 09:29 PM

I forgot all about it, Busy designing my life away.

ironworks 10-04-2010 08:07 AM

So where are we racing tonight ladies?

96z28ss 10-04-2010 09:02 AM

How about mustang at summit point?

That sounds good. About 8pm.

Psydwaze 10-04-2010 10:32 AM

That's fine, but I gotta warn you guys. I was running the Mustang at Summit all last week for the series, so it's still really fresh in my head. As a plus though, I've got a decent setup to share.

I won't make the same mistake of slowing down to wait for Rodger this week. :)

96z28ss 10-04-2010 11:11 AM

I was watching you for awhile, not sure if i'd call what you were doing racing.
It looked as though you were drifting the whole course.

We could always do the solstice at Laguna

ironworks 10-04-2010 11:17 AM

To go fast at Summit Raceway it is a pretty loose track. You go full throttle for most of the track and slam on the brakes in 2 turns and throttle steer the rest I believe. I have not raced the mustang on this track yet.

Psydwaze 10-04-2010 01:22 PM

I hope you weren't watching my two crappy races. You should have watched last night. Second through fourth place within .5 of each other the whole 21 laps. I finally got passed with like three laps to go and took 4th.

But yeah, the Mustang only really turns if you're lightly trailbraking or when you're on the throttle. You pretty much drift it through the last S section before the last turn onto the straight.

Besides, driftin' is MAD TIGHT YO!

96z28ss 10-04-2010 02:22 PM

Im still struggling through my rookie license.
I did get my first win, started in fourth and was in first by lap 9 and finished.
I had a few second place finishes. I can't wait to get rid of this rookie license.

Thats the only thing that is missing is the seat motion . If the seat moved like a real simulator he wouldn't have gotten sick.

Psydwaze 10-11-2010 04:53 PM

I think it's Rookie Slowstice Night in Monterey tonight. Rodger said something about making this longer race since we all know the car and track combo pretty well.

I need you to watch me and give me some tips so i can beat Rodger.

Psydwaze 10-11-2010 07:13 PM

Best advide for going faster... use ALL of the track.

I've gotta get both of you up to speed, so it's not so lonely up front. :P

ironworks 10-18-2010 12:49 PM

All right lets do something different.

How about the C6R on the Daytona road coarse with the fixed Daytona setup.

730-745 with 60-90 minute practice session the a 10 lap shootout. We will let Bob starts up front. Paybacks are a bitch. :D :D :D

you were going so slow I just tapped you in the back to remind you I was there.

Why don't we do the C6R at laguna? or Summit? Where do they race normally?

GregWeld 10-18-2010 01:37 PM

Just got back from "the ranch" this AM -- and went straight to Comcast for the proper modem out in the shed... so got the wifi issue out there fixed... finally. Now I have still to order the PC that Rodger turned me onto - will do that this week.

OUR house has been a little bit 'busier' than normal -- can't say why until end of the week -- but it's been crazy in a good way.

Have fun tonight guys - I WILL join you soon.

ironworks 10-18-2010 01:54 PM

Did your new 12" platform shoes arrive? Oh somebodies trying to be 5'10".

That is Big News. Or at least Average.

Rodger

GregWeld 10-18-2010 01:56 PM

I'm going to trade height for a new ego -- mines a bit bruised.

The C6R at Summit might be tough. They are pretty fast. Plus I'm sick of Laguna. Daytona is pretty easy, Just be sure to brake early for turn one.

Rodger

Having been born and raised in Ptown --- I wouldn't live there if they gave me a house FREE.... and I'm serious.

I'm thinking more like a third place, in the Napa valley somewhere... with vines on acreage... and lots of room for hot rod storage. :unibrow:

ironworks 10-19-2010 03:37 PM

Bakersfield......:D

Lots of room for Hot Rods

I know what you mean about Portland, I'm probably not going to be here much longer. I need to get out of multnomah county. A nice place in Newberg or Mcminville with a vinard in the back yard would be Robyns dream come true.

Psydwaze 10-25-2010 10:09 AM

Rodger and I were talking the other night about the upcoming tire physics model for iRacing. Here's a link to a video of Dave Kaemmer (sim racing programming guru and Godfather of sorts) talking about his research and progress.

ironworks 10-25-2010 11:01 AM

Well we had talked about just running in the week 13 events tonight, but I'm not sure we will all get put in the same class. So I guess I could host the same event so we do or just skip tonight and run the week 13 stuff. This week will be fun, the Vette and the radical at Watkins Glen with the boot. Fun.

I wonder if the setups are fixed?

Psydwaze 10-25-2010 03:30 PM

I won't be able to run a full race tonight; my in-laws are coming over for dinner. I may let my father in law run in some of the practice sessions, either Legends or the Vette if he's feeling up to a challenge, so I may be online later.

GregWeld 10-25-2010 07:46 PM

I found an older video demonstrating some of Rodgers driving skills:

ccracin 10-26-2010 05:02 AM

Nice Greg, this guys uses a philosophy we used on the circle tracks.
"If the radiator will fit, the rest will follow!" Although it couldn't be Rodger, his knees were not touching the steering wheel!

ironworks 10-26-2010 06:53 AM

That is about what it was last night Greg in what they call week 13. In Week 13 which is the end of a season they do a fun for all. They let the lower rated guys drive the big Horsepower cars against any one willing to race and have a huge turn out. There are no license requirements and it does not affect your safety rating. So last night in race one at Watkins glen I'm driving the radical which is a 300hp go kart basically with a bunch of guys also driving the C6R also. It is mixed class racing. Well we started the race with 56 cars and had a huge pile up in Turn one. Thank God I started in the back and knew turn one is always a mess so I let the idiots drive right off the cliff. Well I finished the 15 lap race in 8th place and got 3rd in class.

Bob told me last we that next week at SEMA Iracing will have booth at the event. I say we have some kind of competition on who can set the fast time for each day. Sorry Bob they don't run the slow cars for the DEMO. :( :(

Maybe I'll ask for the slower cars. Hope they have the new Mazda to try out.

ironworks 10-26-2010 09:59 AM

What would the slow car prove, that you can crash both a super fast C6R and the Slowstice?

If they let Greg drive he will have to sit on somebodies lap and they will have to press the pedals for him.

True I can crash anything.

Well he isn't going to sit on my lap. We can just gather up some catalogs from neighboring booths and he can sit on those.
