Too cool!!!!
Very nice of you to put up that video too! I was going to ask how its shifted so i am anwsered!!! One other question if you dont mind, i looked at your rad hoses and they are VERY nice. I would like to do something similar and am wondering where i can get some tubing for that? Also, what are those rubber sleeves? They look Sooooo clean! Thanks, and keep on knocking down the work on the Imp, it gets better every post! Lead. Btw, love the color too! |
It looks great. Glad to see more progress.
|
That's definetly stepping up the game. That looks bad azz!!!!
|
Very awesome Mitch. Great updates.
She sounds mean too!:unibrow:  |
Lead,
the hoses are just pieces of stainless tubing i got from columbia river mandrel bending. found here>> http://www.mandrel-bends.com/catalog...FQMRNAodrzg_dA the rubber sleeves that connect them are just silicone hoses that i also got from columbia river. i think jegs and summit also sells both of those items. the jeffco is an unbelievable transmission, at WOT there simply is nothing cooler. thanks to everyone who checked out my update and left comments, you guys keep me going and keep me pushing myself to get better. |
Looks killer man! that transmission is sweet!

I really like that third picture close up infront of the garage. It looks great. Glad to see it coming together. Very Nice.
|
Looks killer mitch! I really like the color! Let me know what you think of the hydroboost. Im thinking of going that route

Incredible car! I always loved these big Impala's. You really nailed the look and stance!
|
Great updates Mitch. That car is looking sick!
Keep up the good work and keep us posted. |
well its been far far too long since my last update. ive been kinda treading water on it for a little bit, but im started to near the end. i had a couple "oops" deals when wetsanding and buffing so i had to touch them up and put on an additional three coats of clear to make sure it wouldnt happen again. finall got the car all buffed out and cleaned up. im pretty impressed with my garage paintjob. theres a few imperfections but in the sun it looks great. i started finishing up the hood and decided that a molded cowl would function and finish better then my homemade version, so i knocked that out( hood is currently in primer.) its a 3.5" harwood scoop. it looks big in the pictures being unfinished but in primer it kinda gets swallowed up by the cars massiveness. i finished the air cleaner assembly, it just needs buffed and striped. decided to add a little high tech to my rather old school car with some painted on carbon fiber look.( i just wanted to see if i could do it, havent decided if i should keep it or not). also got the wheelwells sprayed in bedliner, for protection and to have a nice backdrop for the wheels.
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ven/013-13.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ven/014-11.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/018-8.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/016-9.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ven/011-21.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/029-3.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/030-4.jpg and a vid of it idling. i have since pulled the race bullets off and put some flowmaster 40s on it. they had such an awful drone and for some reason they sounded like a tractor on this video. my camera didnt pick up any of the low tones. i also fixed that ticking exhaust leak since then. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2.../th_004-38.jpg sorry for the book but ive been needing to update and i hope you guys like what you see. |
Wow! MY hat is off to you friend....More paint problems and you are still giving into it!! Way high the hat!!! I have done bodywork before (and hate it) and am a pro at spray can painting (lol!) and even tough i'm pretty well equipped i have never shot a whole car cause i'm too scared of messing up... So, seeing you get at, mess it up and going back and back is making me start to think i should get off my crybaby ass and try my hand.....
Very nice work. Keep it up and keep us up to date too! Lead. |
still at it. i have my own little sema thrash going to have the car done( or driveable and inspected) for my wedding on november 12. Im getting kinda frustrated with it lately, i look back at things i shouldve done and wanna change down the road, and im not even finished the first time.
what do you guys do in that situation? change it now, later, or just let it go? it always interests me how others go through build plans compared to me. id like to see how the pros do it, and the homebuilders who also turn out top notch stuff. i got the hood done and on the car, needs a quick buff and some more time on the gaps. pretty much all i have to do before the wedding is get as much interior in as i can and get it running well. lots of pictures now that its out and about a bit more: http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...65006924_n.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...29287802_n.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...n/DSCF2368.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...n/DSCF2367.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...n/DSCF2365.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...n/DSCF2363.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...n/DSCF2360.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...n/DSCF2359.jpg |
Congrats the hood looks amazing i cant even tell you put that thing on congrats. drive it for awhile and enjoy it then make a list of stuff you want to do and dont comprise till you have everything you want then take the care back down and redo it.

Car looks great Mitch. |
i appreciate the comments guys. im pretty sure im gunna run it like this for awhile, and just do some simple upgrades.
so far i have plans for some ridetech tube arms and shockwaves for the front, and either a ridetech airride controller, or an accuair setup, not sold on either one yet. keep the comments coming, good or bad, it keeps me motivated! |
so time for an update? i think so.
well since my last update: my wife and i got married in november( we actually moved into our house in august) and have since been busy with being a domesticated husband(ugh). but in all honesty, ive been spending alot of time with her getting moved in, and working on the house projects. taught myself to drywall and finished the garage, so when the car is ready to come home (im hoping in a few weeeks) itll have a nice place to sleep. besides that and the car which you'll see in a moment, ive been playing with nitro: http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/369.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...n/IMAG0291.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/437.jpg this is nitro, we got him in february and hes 8 months now, pure bread doberman( we decided against cropping his ears). hes a lot of work, but hes really an excellent dog. ok now for the good stuff. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/450.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/447.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/481.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/490.jpg my first cold air setup i built, was too low. i could not get the car to idle decent with it on the carb and decided to build a new one, with more taste, and it cured the problem. i didnt have enough room between the roof of the intake and the carb and mustve made turbulence and choked it off. now thats fixed. i molded the new one out of fiberglass. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/448.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/476.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/480.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/487.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/489.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/487.jpg been trying to get all the interior on the car done as well. took a few trys but i finally built some door panels that suit me, only thing i wanna do yet is pull the inserts out and sew some diamonds in them to go with the rest of the interior. the arm rests i got from fesler on there black friday sale and the cranks are from lokar( may change them to billet specialties later) i made a new dash panel out of fiberglass and wrapped it in vinyl instead of the wood attempt i had earlier, it just fits better, also cleaned up the wirings on the gauges as well. i started puttin the stereo togther, built a box for my two 15 inch re subs, and i built mini boxes for all my component speakers as well. i also picked up a 6.5 inch kenwood dvd/cd/nav/ head unit for it as well. ill try and get more pictures this weekend and get them up, but for now i thought id bring you all back up to speed. |
cute dog. That's the first doberman I have seen. I've only ever seen the pinchers with cropped ears. Good luck with the car. Love the name.
|
Very cool car. Glad to see some other guys doing Impalas. My "Project Impulse" is comming along fine. I just haven't had time to post anything lately. Great job on the car!
|
Good stuff man. Congrats on everything.
My girlfriend and I were going to get a Doberman till the landlord said,....NO!! lol Nice updates on the car. |
Congrats on the new wife ,house and puppy. Nice progress!
|
ITS FINALLY ON THE ROAD!
its not totally finished, but i could really care less anymore. i got everything functioning for inspection, door panels finished, carb tuned up and ive made it to three shows so far this year. i still gotta finish the headliner and put all that trim that goes with it, buy and install the window cranks (swore i had them somewhere but i guess those were the old set) i have to make a new carburetor hat too, i made the current one too low in hoping of getting a flatter hood on, but neither worked out, and it chokes the engine out. so at the moment i cruise with a regular air cleaner on and put the other on at shows. maybe ill stumble upon some money and go efi with a fabricated manifold to fix that too( wishful thinking) I also have hubs and brackets to put 14 z06 rotors on the car, trying to find some used calipers if anybody has any, let me know! theyre pretty spendy new from a dealer. also, what are you guys running for rotors? i know the factory zo6 rotors rust up, whose rotors wont rust? enough bla blah... heres how she looks at the moment. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...99773501_n.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...32339512_n.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...99604597_n.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...6290151-vi.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...6290152-vi.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...6290154-vi.jpg |
Man that's sweet!!!

The engine bay and intake look great. Good job on the car. Congrats on getting it on the road and good luck getting the rest finished up.
|
It looks great, nice work! Enjoy!!!
|
Love it! 67 has been my favorite since I was in high school in the 80s. Had a buddy with a 67 Caprice. Awesome cruiser. Missed out when he sold it. Later I found a 67 Impala and went to go buy it and the guy sold it 30 minutes before I showed up. Still would love to have one someday.
Yours looks absolutely killer! Stance, engine bay etc, just cool. Looking forward to further updates! |
