Yesterday, Jesus shot Alchemy. Here she is. He'll color sand the car next week. :hail:

And if this shot of Jon's paint job on Bob's 911S doesn't impress you then nothing will.

Actually, that is my "hmm... this looks like Bad Penny" face.

Kidding aside, the paint on the two cars will definitely look different when beside each other.

Thanks Wayne. Trev and I are anxious to get back in the game. The last couple of months have been a remarkable experience watching the guys do the body and paint. We're hoping to participate with the rest of the build come next week. Then it's off to Eric Thornsen for the interior work. :woot:

Thanks tones. Here's some shots of Alchemy in the sun. Also, a preview of the Fikse wheels and blacked out tail panel.

Bryan O 09-02-2011 06:14 PM

We installed the sound deadener. Still have a couple of small areas left to cover. Pics aren't too good.

Finished the DSE dash insert.

We measured placement for the gauges, vent, switches and head unit. The tolerances for the gauge holes were very tight so Dick had to cut the crude holes. I smoothed them with a "dental tool". Everything fits nice and snug. We wrapped the gauges with a strip of masking tape to mimic the effect of paint.

Jesus shot the primer, Trevor and I did the wet sanding and then Jesus painted it.

Trevor and I wired the gauges.

Jon is color sanding the car. As soon as he's done I'll post pics. Clayton Machine pedals are installed as well as the Wilwood master cylinder. More updates soon.

Thanks Wayne. Really liking how yours is turning out, too.

Jon finished color sanding and buffing Alchemy today. Only my photography skills could slaughter the spectacular job he and Jesus have done painting the car.

Here's a cellphone shot. When in low light it really shows the "redish" flop of the BMW Valencia orange paint.

Thanks guys. I got really lucky with that color. Saw it on a bimmer one day when I was on the way to the shop to tell Jon to paint the car silver with black hockey stripes. Had to have it. :)

Hey Bryan, I saw your Marquez tail lights are installed. They look good, and remind me of mine, except something is different. Oh, I know, yours are cleaner and shinier.

Thanks.

Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. ;)

Trev installed those. He's loving working on the car. Got the Marquez side light bezels insalled, too.
