Hey guys wanted to update you on my father's Tube chassis Duster drag car! His R3 440 stroker is finally built and made 780hp on the dyno on gas. Hes hoping to creep into the 800s with alcohol. Should be a wild ride and my first attempt at a drag car!

Sweetness!:hail: I like the p7 stuff but I'm a sucker for a well built R3..
|
I agree with you on that! I searched some old threads when you were looking to do a turbo on the r5 stuff! Did you figure anything else out?
|
No, but I se e a few people have bootsed the p7 with success. I'll stick with the w9's.. There fine for me! :unibrow:

Yah as long as I put together the right combination, everthing should be fine! Thanks anyways!

Im working on it! Trying to close out this semester in school, take the GRE, and get into a masters program. Good thing is the weather is getting nice and I hope to do some stuff soon! Thanks for the interest Gant |
Great looking build Grant
Are you in NASCAR country? Where did you pick up the motor?
|
Hey Payton, sorry hadn't checked this in awhile! I'm in Ga, not NC. If your looking for anything Dodge Nascar, send me a message and I can set you up with some great people!

Hey guys hope all has been well! I was hoping some of you paint experts could help me find a paint color and code similar to the pro mod duster below preferably ppg. I'm sure some of the Mercedes etc have colors similar to this grey silver pewter. My father is going to go for something similar or better on his tube chassis duster. Here are a couple pics below.
http://i49.tinypic.com/5kr4h4.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/6dznyx.jpg As some of you may remember my father's car had some imperfections with the originally chassis measurements that he didn't want to risk for safety and all of the hard work was scrapped. You can see some pics of the original chassis earlier in the build thread. Long story short, it is now being professionally built by www.r2b2racecars.com here in GA. Great bunch of guys and should be even better! He went all chromoly now as well. Here are some pics! http://i47.tinypic.com/2zsbbxk.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/207nv5i.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/34f192p.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/255t7go.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/dfl0x.jpg |
Those R2B2 guys do really nice work. Should be pretty cool when done.

Thanks Roger! Big fan of all of your work over the years!

Well guys, unfortunately my build that Ive been working on for the last several years is going to have to be put on hold for awhile. A little thing called life happens sometimes and things change. I have to put one dream on hold, so I can begin another. I will be keeping the car shell and a few other things, but all of my R5P7 engine components, corvette suspension, drivetrain components are up for sale in the for sale section. Ive posted the link below.
I promise I will be back one day and build this car the way it needs to be built. I want to thank all of you who have supported me throughout the build. I will be back. Gant MacLellan https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=45270 |
Good luck, Gant. Sounds like it's something positive holding you up and not a negative so that's good I'd say.
|
Really appreciate that man! Thank you so much!

Don't worry about it brother. This thing called "LIFE" goes on. And sometimes the things that make us the happiest, in this case maybe building your car, has to take a back seat to other things in order to make someone else happy or to make other sacrifices. Good luck!!
