The DSE suspension is complete with the exception of the rear sway bar. Also need larger front and rear tires but have to wait for the body to be set to check for fitment. Sure is good to see her sitting on all four tires!

Rick,As alway's lookin great. :thumbsup:I installed a 9in. housing in my 66 chevelle build. At ride height it look's like the upper link bracket's on top of the housing might bump the trunk floor.Have you mocked up your's.

Rick Giles 10-22-2012 04:59 AM

Thanks! I had it mocked up with a different suspension and the car was sitting much higher. Might have to make a couple of pockets for clearance. Hope not though. Thanks for the heads up!

Looks awesome! Where did you source your manifolds from?

66138 02-17-2013 07:55 PM

What size rims ?

Great project ! What size rims and backspacing do you have there ?

Rick Giles 02-18-2013 03:06 AM

Coolwelder, just like you said, Jet Hot is a great company. They called me last week just to thank me for the business and to check to see if I was completely satisfied. That's unheard of today.

Camcojb, yeah thanks alot for checking this car out for me and telling me all it needed was about $10K worth of work. Just kidding!:D It has turned out to be a labor of love. Thanks for your help!

g356gear, the exhaust manifolds are from Gale Banks. Very nice parts. Glad I went this route instead of headers. It's such a clean install and durable.

66138, the front rims are 18X9 with 4 7/8" backspace and rears are 18X10 but I'm not sure of the back spacing. I did narrow the rear after I bought the car but I don't remember the width.

Thanks for the compliments guys!!

 well, to be fair, we were talking about just bolting it together as-is. When you decide to re-engineer and change everything, costs do balloon.

Excellent job. Car looks amazing. I love the color combo (green with tan interior). What part of Va are you located? Im in central NC, about 3 hr drive to Richmond.

64G-lark 02-18-2013 11:45 AM

Nice build Rick. I really like the color combination as well. In the pictures it almost looks like a silver with a slight green tint. Do you have any details on the paint color?

WSSix 02-18-2013 05:21 PM

Engine detailing looks great! Glad the car is still moving along.

66138 02-18-2013 05:45 PM

the rims

Thanks Rick. Love the color and the rims look just right !

Rick Giles 02-19-2013 07:06 PM

Thanks guys for the compliments!

Jay, I'm in Mechanicsville that's right outside of Richmond. I lived in Chapel Hill for a few years and love N.C.! Was a Snap-On dealer back in the 80's.

The color is called Willow Green. It has one repaint and the new color is slightly more silver than the original.

Jody, I have seen you take a killer car and turn it into something way over the top! Guess we have trouble leaving well enough alone. Sure is fun building a very detailed car though.

66SuperSport 02-22-2013 07:57 AM

Looking forward to seeing this one done and on the road! Should be an absolute blast to drive.

syborg tt 06-19-2013 07:34 AM

Car looks killer and I love the winch on the rack - what a great idea.

1965_SS 06-19-2013 08:16 AM

Awesome build!

ProTouring442 06-19-2013 12:19 PM

I do not know if you've thought about this, or what your plans might be, but you can convert the factory A/C from the valve system (POA I think) to an orifice tube and a cycling compressor fairly easily. I did it on the factory system in my '66 some years ago (long since sold). Worked like a charm.

Beautiful car... can't wait to see it finished!

1965_SS 06-20-2013 06:16 AM

What's the ceiling height inside your garage?

bentfab 06-20-2013 08:21 AM

Rick,

How did the firewall clearance work out?

Mark

tones2SS 06-20-2013 05:05 PM

That looks awesome Rick. Keep up the great work and keep up posted.

Thanks for your suggestion. I have talked to a local A/C shop that has been around for years and they said that they can help me with that. Plan on running R12 also in hopes of being able to hang meat up inside the car.

Going to run 200 mph with the A/C on.:)

It's 10'3". I'm only 5'8" and it works great. I think up to about a 6' tall person would work ok with a car like this.

My calculations too Rick. I have 124" and it looks very close. Car looks superb!

Oooh. those are my sizes. What width rims are you mounting them on? If 9" and 10" I could you some measurements after you get them mounted.

Edit:
I found it earlier in your thread.

When you get them mounted I'd love to see the width at the widest part measurement.
