Well it's not Fiberglass and it does have a bed floor. SO I guess it can't get any awards.

I agree with Jody!! For those who were able to see it in person at SEMA - you know what we're talking about! It IS the nicest truck I have ever seen! Props to Ironworks for a truck well done!!

ironworks 11-16-2011 07:38 PM

What he said X's 6....

The metal work on this project is over the top. Too bad most people don't understand how much was done to this truck. It's amazing!

You couldn't get any better fit and finish. There just isn't anything you could do to it to make it more "perfect" - every surface was 100%.

Well Thanks Greg. That was until it arrived at SEMA. I'm hoping to find a truck paint a similar color and park them next to each other again just to show case the differences.

All Right back to work on the bubble top.

That's what's so cool about it imo, heavily modified body but done like it came from GM that way. I think too many builds get odd looking because the builders want to showcase what they can do vs doing it to take the ugly out of the original vehicle.

That is exactly what Frank I spent so much time doing. We were just trying to take the ugly out of the truck. We never did one rendering or anything. We just laid out a game plan and worked to rid the truck anything ugly. It's funny how many people have no idea that it is not a really nice resto.

That's the great thing about a place like lat-g, where the rest of us can see what was done. This one might even make truck guys out of some of us.

We made our last stop on the West Coast tour from SEMA with the hauler at Del Mar this past weekend. We got our hat in the ring for one of those fancy tool boxes Goodguys gives out with the picture of your wining car or truck on it. What a cool trophy. We were able to get the first finalist position for the Goodguys Truck of the year (early) finalist for 2012. Frank and Mary were on cloud nine all weekend. The weather was amazing and the food was really good also. Not that we had much over the holiday....:unibrow:

Way kool on the finalist award.... That truck deserves the attention it gets!

96z28ss 11-28-2011 11:22 PM

Ballers just do it that way....

DBL NKL 11-29-2011 07:04 AM

Man that is a wicked looking truck. I can only imagine the hours that went into all those mods. In any case, beautiful work on the truck and it's designs Roger.

Me likes!

ironworks 11-29-2011 07:14 AM

Thanks guys. Most people will have no idea half the work that went into this truck. But those that do spend hours checking it out and coming back to the truck many times. Time to get it ready for the GNRS in late January.

waynieZ 11-30-2011 06:39 PM

It came out awesome!

DBL NKL 11-30-2011 07:13 PM

Just booked my 55 in for GNRS as well and will be hauling it down from Canada. I was fitting my sheet metal hood today when all of a sudden I thought...hey, I wonder if Roger could fab those same support braces into the underside of my hood and around the blower opening with those fancy holes pressed through it.

You now have a voice mail message from me on your shop phone.

GregWeld 11-30-2011 07:17 PM

I'll answer for him....

OF COURSE HE CAN!
