We had lost (had to put down) our two Beagles (brother and sister) after 17 years... Those two never moved without being side by side touching at the shoulder. Alice was full of cancer - so we put her down (too old to do much with according to the vet) and without Alice -- Elvis went to hell in 6 months! Like an old married couple!

Condolences and congratulations on re engaging. :thumbsup:

You might check with [email protected] she does a very thorough job.

Thanks! Gwen has already laid the deposit down so no changes now. I've let her do all the "work" so I'm really kind of out of this loop. If truth be known - I wouldn't get another dog at this point. I'm loving the freedom of travel without fences and without any regard to "what's at home" etc. But at the same time - while getting some custom boot liners done yesterday - the shop had a sweet little dog (Augie) and I never stopped petting him the whole time I was there... so..... :lol:

GregWeld 02-24-2013 08:34 AM

I spoke too soon -- seems Gwen has only made a verbal via email this morning so a Chocolate female might be in the running!

We'll see -- it's her call this time around.

REALLY??? I remember suing Austin's and Blood Enterprises (actually Blood sued me - and I was able to include this shop in the counter suit) and I won. Talk about poor work! Want me to post some pictures??

Well THE SIEGMIESTER is officially responsible for all chewed furniture - and sharted on capets etc... He has signed an official document... since it was HIS FAULT that my wife jumped all over a cute little 3 month Chocolate Lab from the breeder that Sieg recommended!

She will be in Seattle tonight --- and in Sun Valley Tuesday. She needs a health certificate to fly so our son will do that on Monday and fly with her on Tuesday.

She was named Spice (Mother is Meg AKA: Nutmeg/ Father is Rocky - AKA: Almond Roca) but Gwen has already renamed her Stella.

Thus we had Alice and Elvis (you ain't nuttin' but a hound dog)....

But not this time around. We need to be fair to the dog -- and we travel A LOT.... Life is hard enough without TWO big dogs to fly etc.

Normally I would totally agree --- I used to tell people --- it's like WTF you're screwed whether you have one or two - they still need to be fed / walked / let out etc.

Here is Lee's (WindRiverLabs) response from my email today: "She's (Stella) really a sweet heart and smart as a whip too." This lady has been been breeding high performance Hunt Trial Lab's for while and IMO she under-promises and over delivers.

Lee does good work............

That was taken the day we took delivery of Rev three years ago now.

GW - Ball's in your court, so don't F it up like me and my carb!!! :lmao:

GregWeld 02-24-2013 08:32 PM

Of course #1 son has her up on his bed already..... :lol:

It's over now. The dog will forever get on beds. You may think you'll train it out of her but she'll just wait until you're gone.

Congrats on the new pup. I hope to one day put pictures up of my new mutt. I figure I'll just go to the pound and find me a nice dog to ride shot gun with me.

Gwen had worked for a few weeks now to try to get a dog thru the local shelter here -- but it just wasn't working out. Then The Siegster stuck his mug in there and BAM! :lol:

fleet 02-25-2013 05:12 AM

Congrats on the nice lookin lil pooch. :)

Between you and me though Greg, I would have tried harder to convince Gwen that you can do most of those things the dawg can do.

Plus you travel better (I think), and yer a short hair as well.

This is my Savahna cat, Kashmire. I was never a cat person before but this dude is cool, he's more like a dog than a cat. I also have two dogs, a lab/beagle mix (second pic) and a Pugle, that looks like a pot belly pig! Don't have any pics of her though.

She's (Stella) not in Sun Valley until tomorrow (Tuesday).... and #1 son hasn't reported any mayhem so far. He's a pretty responsible guy with the dogs - and if you ask him to take you to the airport at 4:30AM he'll be up at 4... so I'm going to ASSume that he set an alarm to get up and take her out in the wee (pun?) hours of the morning.

Gwen can't wait to get to the local pet shop here today to buy one of everything....:warning: :lol:

GregWeld 02-25-2013 07:37 AM

Alex just called and said he was under attack by the "kiss monster"....

In the crate at 10:30 whined for 15 minutes and then slept 'til 7.... no problems... so far.

Have her grab a Deer or Elk antler section.......those are a favorite of both my dogs and more durable than any chew on the market with no mess factor.

Apparently everything is going quite well in Seattle as far as doggies are concerned!

Todd in vancouver 02-25-2013 06:40 PM

Besides my family my two favorite things in the world are my car hobbies and I spend what remains of my free time working with a few different animal rescues. Speciffically Pit Bull rescue. Ive never had a dog who was so affectionate and had such a BIG personality. I know everyone thinks their dogs are the best but I can tell you having never owned one once you get a taste of Pit Bull lovin you'll never own anything else.

my rescue girl, Penny;
http://imageshack.us/a/img834/103/dmr6684.jpg

and the troublesome twosome the Siamese brothers Po & Loki;
http://imageshack.us/a/img221/593/dmr6778.jpg
and now the funny part, our 6lb SPCA rescue cat that runs the house. No kidding the 15lb Siamese and my Pit Bull won't mess with this little girl, Mia;

When I'm not working on the car all my free time is spent with our fur crew or volunteering at the rescues we work with. :thumbsup:

Good on you, Todd. I think Pit Bulls are one of the most misunderstood dogs out there. I'd love to get a small blue female. They have so much energy so I could easily take one running and exercising with me.
