No kiddin'!! I have a set of approved plans for a 24 x 36 shop but business needs to pick up before I can afford to build it. I was about to pull the trigger back in 2010 but then I got on this site and I ended up putting the money into my car.

And I have to wear "Cocktail" attire on top of that, which makes me think I am going to have to go shopping---anyone have an example of such attire that they care to post up? This could be good.

I'm glad I checked in. I was going to go just to watch seeing how Orngasm is quite track ready yet. Just wanted to hang out out and get a ride for the wife. I'm sure she won't mind! lol I wouldn't have gotten off work until 7am that Sat. morning anyway.

On another note, the wife said we could go to RTTC in October after our anniversary cruise. Anybody got room for a trailer and car down there? lol I don't know for sure if I'm going to do it though.

CarlC 09-09-2012 07:03 PM

I'll still be there on Saturday but driving a borrowed car.

Yes, a real 'Dandy' aka 'A fancy boy', 'Fruity Pierre', 'Nancy' and certainly their own table at SEMA.

Rob, make it happen! You guys will have a blast!

For the Guys who are still coming over to Bakersfield for the Event, if your board Saturday night I will be racing my dirt car at the Bakersfield Speedway. There are some good classes on tap and should make for a fun evening if your staying the night.

Email me if your interested.

My spot at Buttonwillow is paid up for Saturday. If someone wants to go its yours. NCRC will charge $20 or so for the transfer.

Jerry has first dibs. If I dont hear from him next taker gets it.

gerno 09-13-2012 11:01 AM

I would take it but as of last night my front end is apart for new control arm bushings and lower ball joints so I'm out. If no one takes it and you are able to transfer to a different event let me know. I'm thinking of attending the T-Hill day on Sept 21 and will give you some $$ to cover some of your cost if it can be transfered. That way we both win.

Steve

I know this my be crazy, but how tall are you? Im 5'8" (on a good day) would you be interested in driving my car? (Kind of a pay it forward thing I guess). It's kinda late in the game, but I bet we could make it happen, at least for one of the days.

PM me.

Track Junky 09-14-2012 05:36 PM

Thanks for the offer Bret and trust me I'd love to take you up on that but I cant make it. Take my spot. I will e-mail Dave Mills and let him know as soon as I hear from you. Oh, and give me your last name so I can give your full name to Dave.

It was a fun day, albeit a bit warm. It was 104* on the car thermometer as we jumped on I5 at 4:00pm.

The turnout was light so the classes were not that full. There were surprisingly few mechanicals. I don't think anyone was towed but a few should have taken their broken cars home earlier.

We'll have to plan this again gents.

Track Junky 09-16-2012 08:46 PM

Thanks for the update Carl. 104* seems hot down there for this time of year. Hopefully we can make this happen next year.

Flash68 09-16-2012 08:52 PM

Carl looks like you're the only trooper around with a running car. How'd ya do?

CarlC 09-17-2012 10:49 PM

I did not drive mine. It's down for some upgrades that are taking longer than planned. My friend Jon was nice enough to share his C5 Z06, so the day was more geared toward keeping the skills sharp vs. pushing the car too hard. Rust sets in pretty quick without seat time. I also spent one session in the passenger seat doing a bit of on-track instruction for one of the Fox Racing Shox guys.

Shoot I suited up and raced at the dirt track. It was not that bad. Plus I scaled the car all morning before going to the track.
