Fast
So when i went to check on the progress, and got me a little surprise!, I had origionally looked into, and asked about the FAST intake and throttle body., and then ultimately decided it was not in the budget at the moment.
Well low and behold, I walk up to the car and what do I see!!...:confused59: :D :wow: http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/IMG_6982.jpg . http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/IMG_6972.jpg . http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/IMG_6960.jpg . http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/IMG_6983.jpg complete with Tilden Motorsports new black anodized throttle body. What a nice surprise! :excited: . |
Now that is nice .... scope creep? You won't regret adding go fast parts EVER!
Michael |
Ya gotta tell us Art - how does one get surprised like that?

On the down side, is I was looking at chipping my 2016 Ram MegaCab Diesel, but since the right thing to do, would be pony up, I now have to not get those go fast parts for my daily driver. :hairpullout: I haven't consulted with him, only with his parts manager, so we'll see where this goes once we actually consult on it.(fingers crossed).:tiptoe: He'll make it good...He's a great guy, and really like his passion of the sport. All in all, I'm just eager to get behind the wheel, and be able to drive this 5 yr plus project. Its been way too long of a road, and riddled with empty promises and unrealistic completion dates. I'm sure it will be all worth it once I can enjoy it. :burnout: . |
Forgeline
Forgelines came in! ~ had to tweak width a bit.
http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/IMG_6897.jpg Color is like a chameleon certain angle looks bright and lustful, other angle looks bronze and flat. Wasn't quite expecting the bronze. http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/IMG_6964.jpg kinda cool. Forgeline did a great job. http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/IMG_7485.jpg . http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/IMG_7465.jpg . http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...722_160521.jpg . http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...722_160528.jpg . http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/IMG_7481.jpg |

Nice .... love the color against the red! Fit is better now? |

Yea, I believe so, I haven't' seen it on the ground, but guys at the shop said they left a spacer on the backside to have a bit more clearance away from the inner wheel well. outside is maxed out. Wheel ended up as a 12.5" - 6 3/8" B.S. . |
.
Stainless-works headers are tucked in there.. nice fit http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/IMG_6975.jpg rear meat: http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...t/IMG_7994.png . http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...o__highres.jpg . |

Art ... I was just looking at that very same one! The quick disconnect steering wheel looks cool too, I'll have to come over and get the skinny on that one. Michael |
Great progress!! Love the Bronze wheels and the shifter is wicked looking. I am running the same NRG disconnect. Good idea if you ask me.
Keep at it!! :captain: |
Nice progress! I like the wheel color and selection. Looks good against the red. Good luck moving forward.
|
The shifter is stunning
|
what is the size of that shifter? 6" or 8" i just got my 6" and i think its a tad too small
|
Progress
.
Thanks guys, it's definitely had some good forward progress. I'm excited! :D The end is near! ... Or at least the possibility of driving it soon! . |
Shifter
Quote:
It's an 8". I measured the stock hurst shifter it had, which was like a 12" and figured the 8" world work. Haven't actually sat in it and felt the feeling of it, (didn't dawn on me at the time). I'll check it out on Monday and get back to you. It looks proportionally correct, plus the location of the stock shifter was moved back 4" with the T56 transmission. I'm keeping the stock center console, and will get creative with the gap between console and dash. . |
.
Came across this photo of my Pops... He bought this from the Chevy dealership when he came back from VietNam. http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...a%20Camaro.jpg :flag2: . |
Gotta love a car with personal history!
|
Doesn't get much cooler than that!

I love the picture of your father, and the wheels look sweet.

Mufflers ?
Thanks.. its coming along.. :thankyou:
headed to King Muffler on Monday..:weld: :hapdance: Think im going to go with the MagnaFlow Mufflers.. since I'm putting on some cut-outs for those... opportune moments!. X pipe as well. Since I have Bluetooth in the car, and I plan to use it as a daily driver.. I'm hoping to get the inside cab toned down enough, so I can have a conversation using the hands free. Thoughts/ Suggestions on Mufflers? . |
exhaust
.
Off to the muffler shop for some exhaust work! http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...G_0843%202.png . |

Art ... looking nice, so they got around the torque arm I'm assuming? Man that shop has some clutter, huh? That would drive me crazy!!!!
Now back to dyno? Michael |
exhaust.

Nope,, it would fit.. but it wouldn't leave much room for the suspension to travel., so underneath it went. .. looks good so far.. haven't got a chance to look it over.. Had it picked up and towed back to Tilden Motorsports to button up the cut outs, and some Dyno tuning. That shop...lol., I was quite impressed with his tire workstation table.. . |
Art, was great cruising with you the other day.. she is a beaut and a beast!

Dave, thank's man.. was a blast!!
It's exciting getting to re-learn the car and play with its power. I actually have that seat you were in bolted down now!... Was good catching up., we'll have to do it again soon. How did your smog on that diesel go? Took the kids out for a Sunday Drive.. they were pretty excited. :hapdance: |
Been cruising her around a bit.. working out the details.
http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...F38DE6146C.jpg Loving this LS6..:unibrow: Ran her one time at Pleasanton Goodguys.,, felt good and tight. still need to get used to the throttle, to keep the wheels from spinning, and do more grabbing. Was probably the fresh meats. A special thank's to Mary and Dave Pozzi for the words of wisdom, and helping me calm my nerves!, was really a blessing. I was pretty excited with my first run ever time of 72 sec, while the pro's were running 64's +/- sec. http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/r...445E900FAB.jpg can't wait for Marina and Crows Landing. . |
I hope your having a ball with it.
|
Car looks great! Keep us posted when you go down to marina!

How is the NRG steering wheel quick release ? Most QR's I've used always have a little play in them, how tight is the NRG ?
(If you like it do you know which model you are using ? ) |
