Only the elves know.... It helps when TIG welding on polished stainless like that to scuff the edges with a ss wire brush or 3M pad... |

I told them to just take the car and enjoy what's left of the summer - and in the meantime to start finding someone that will do custom carpet - door panels and the back seat.... Mostly because there's nothing uglier than a "standard" '69 Camaro interior in a "hot rodded" version. After that -- I wash my hands... I don't think those Marquez panels will clear his door bars --- but I guess you'll find out tonight. |

Great job Greg. Looks like you're becoming quite the master of those tools my friend. I wish I could say the same. lol |

I think I might become a jiggalo for a few years so I can work on cars in my retirement and not have to worry about income. I figure a few years combined with the investing knowledge you imparted on us and I'll be set. |

I've learned to run a couple of them. Even figured out how to switch the ratchet the other day! What an amazing tool... then someone told me I could plug it into that air hose thingy. HOLY COW! |

So appropriate! I really can hang out in there all day. It's like owning a pro shop - somebody is always stopping by to see what's going on, or just comes over to hang out.... or have me weld something for them. It's very "social". We found that out about the pool as well... on a sunny day - the phone starts ringing and it's always the same question.... "so are you guys hanging out at the pool?" And that's when the party starts. |

car looks real good. Saw it last night. Sounds great. Robyn was home and as Rudy is leaving, he pulls out of my street, on to the main road and he just stomps on it. Robyn says " Holy Sh!t !!" She gave me the look like your car better not be that obnoxius sounding. I just smiled...(she don't know I got cut-outs) |

HAHAHAHA --- Trust me when I tell you my neighbors go NUTS with all the exhaust stuff around here! Did the panels work? Or? The car is no Riddler winner -- but it's FAR FAR superior to what we started with. |

He took them, to take to an interior shop to see what they say. |

Okay -- so that means he liked them -- if he didn't he wouldn't have taken them. Crap... now I'll owe you money! :unibrow: |

Started the day out watching the pros tee off at the Boeing Classic.... had a little lunch at the Schwab hospitality tent ---- then decided to run the R8 down to Shelton to check out "The Ridge".... since the calendar showed they were having an Audi track day! Nice looking track --- the rest --- not so much... YET! Everyone I spoke with LOVED the track --- but I can tell you right now -- it's the perfect set up for "da rig".... my own potty shack --- food -- and a place out of the sun, because there is NOTHING out there but blacktop right now! As long as I was on that side of the water --- we went up to our old home away from home (Poulsbo) and had dinner at our buddies restaurant.... then grabbed a ferry home. All in all - not a bad 12 hours! :woot: |

Nice way to end a Seattle summer day of cruising top down.... http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/file-126.jpg Mt Rainer in the back and the Moon in the top right.... http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/file-125.jpg And a little sunset over your shoulder.... http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/file-124.jpg |

Well --- Poor Rudy hasn't had the car back but about two weeks.... and manages to have his first accident since he was 16! Went to change lanes -- didn't see a Honda in the lane and bada boom.... Okay -- so here's the kicker! Pam (my sister) gets out and starts talking to the people while Rudy does the "info exchange".... and 2 of the people were visiting from the Dakotas.... so she mentions that Mom was from a small town there ---- and then says her maiden name --- which matches the ladies maiden name and she's from the same small area ----- So they figure out --- THEY'RE COUSINS! What in the h e l l is the chance of that?? (She is my step sister btw). Anyway --- now the poor Camaro is at the body shop! http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/file-131.jpg |

Great Work! There are so many high dollar beautiful builds on these forums. It is easy to get intimidated or be reluctant to post stuff done at home or down the street. Your build is an example for all the guys on a budget. Time and expertise can fairly compete with expensive hardware and new components. |

Thank you Jerry! I agree! I'm just about to run out of money any day now --- and I looked around the shop and couldn't find any talent... so between the two of us we just started the project and the next thing you know - the old POS runs and drives! If we can do it - anybody can! |

Our last names are just pronounced a little differently:lol: Really though, tough break for the sis, sounds like a Bad Penny episode. Glad to hear no one was hurt, car can always be repair. |

It'll actually work out pretty well for them Lenie! He needed some work on the passenger door -- and some paint work --- and that will now all get "covered" during the repairs. |
