We had a problem with the original fiberglass hood and front valance so we ordered replacements from NPD. The hood required a little work but the front valance fit great and it was a Dynacorn part.
The hood had a low spot in the back and the front corners needed a little fiberglass added to match our front fenders http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psdyenjzlf.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pszuishbgb.jpg Our new employee Marco is almost finished with the hood http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psvupdo6ex.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps6rhoqgci.jpg Brian was shocked that an aftermarket part fit and doesn't need to be modified and top it off it is fiberglass!!! |
curious as to the amount of hours it takes to install the quadlink, subframes and tubs?
thanks! |
Not sure how I missed this thread. Great work Rusty and Brian!

The back of the hood and deck lid was painted Wimbledon white
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psviydxnu7.jpg Wheels came in today 9 X 18 in the front 10.5 x 18 in the rear http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps14htksd8.jpg |
Installing the suspension and brakes and will fit the sheetmetal so when the tires come in we can make sure they fit before painting.

Rusty, where did you get those shock tower panels? Or did you made them.
I have installed the same stuff to '69 fastback, exept I did long route with mini tubs. Did 3" wide but I moved rear rails complete 3" in. Add 2" strip to trunk floor both sides. What engine are you using? We have a 5.4 SC Modular and that is tight fit. No room for headers. 1" from dse upper coil over mount. I will start buildthread one day when customer says go. Still under radar.. |

That's a bummer we most likely won't get to see it finished. You guys are doing such great work on the car. It looks fantastic.

The body was epoxy primed for the last time and wet sanded with 600 before paint.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psckrow3bx.jpg Three coats of Wimbledon white followed with a coat of intercoat clear http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pszlsfp4ep.jpg It's not a quick job laying out the stripes and taping the body http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psadver2ck.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pswkxc6z0t.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pszlbjlsxp.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psxscts04i.jpg Three coats of Guardsman blue yesterday http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psin1ijvii.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pscmiygc5d.jpg Brian removed the tape today and tomorrow I will spray SPI Universal clear. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psqqdnduwb.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psypm7af8p.jpg |

With the frame rail replacement you used two piece not one? Would it have been better to make out of one? I ask because I'm in a similar situation with my fastback, I have a DSE Aluma-frame also. Any suggestions?

Brian did not replace the frame rail only cut out the rust and made a patch. On yours it looks like you have a lot of rust and I would replace.
