We have been still chipping away a little at a time. The front suspension is almost done so we started on the rear found this ford 9" in the back of the garage and it was almost the same with as the original so we dug it out and started cleaning it up with a wire brush and a 4" grinder.

pulled out the rear end it is a 12 bolt posi with 4:11 gears I cleaned it and painted it up. I also sandblasted the drums and sqirted some ceramic high temp paint on them as well. also have new drum hardware and shoes that will go with as well. looking to get $1,100 for it plus shipping if intrested please let me know. I also have a set of rear disks off a 2002 camaro new drilled and slotted rotors that I could fabricate some brackets for to make these work for a couple hundred more.

Well life can play some pretty good tricks sometimes just when you think you have a direction you get kicked in the nuts and you have to pull your self up and go a different way. after a closer look turns out I jumped the gun and got all excited about having one sitting in the back of the garage that was almost the same with and did not check the pinion being centered and this one was off by 4.25 oh FFFF!! :disgusted: Well looks like there is allways option B. good news is sold the 12 bolt to help pay for this.

Looking great Eric, always nice to keep making progress. What did you do to use the CTSV calipers on the rear, did you make your own brackets? Also are you running the same on the front?

Che70velle 05-20-2013 06:12 PM

Looks great Eric. Get that rear in there, so we can see rear ride height! What color is this car gonna be?

yes the last page of the build thread shows the brackets for the front. the calipers are different the fronts are quite a bit bigger the rotors are 14" front and rear though.hope this helps.

: install HPI. customs frame kit mod rear frame to accept 345 tires
:fabricate new gas tank
:design and fab up new fuel system

just keep building it and have fun.

2nd chance will evolve every 6 months to keep it fresh. It's cheaper then building another car.

It has been kind of nuts lately but still attempting to make progress and maybe even forward! send the frame out for sandblasting to a friend of mines shop called Crazy Talk Customs. so a couple of weeks ago the car looked almost complete and now just a shell and some frame rails.

http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps5f1a8d1c.jpg
http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps9cd3c814.jpg

picked up a 6.0 motor to go through and hopefully it is going to be used for this car?
http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps8fed1a78.jpg

E.rodz 02-21-2014 09:55 PM

ok I think that is enough going backwards and time to go forward for a while. I think my next step is going to install the the HPI. customs frame kit and stiffen this thing up a little bit. oh and there may or may not have some other plans cooking for the frame as well.
