https://scontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/...13758760_n.jpg https://scontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/...41059549_n.jpg Here is the cage plates. made boxes for underneath to weld nuts into. This setup will let me separate the body from the frame. the thin piece of metal will be the new floor although now i feel like it may be too thin. https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...85249936_n.jpg |

Thats the kind of work i like !!!! Way to go man and cool story too...
One question, are you leaving the windshield gusset bar this size or if you are putting something smaller down the road? I read the ones with pictures so i dont know if its been discussed or not.... Kinda overkill a little lol!! And, arent they in your view a little lol!!! I usually do these smaller and i think its the general way its done. But maybe you have a reason i missed? Car is gonna be fantastic! And who can argue with a '67 Goat!! I had same story with my old man.... I know the feeling! Good for you that you decided to make YOUR life your priority. Nobody but yourself can do that. Keep the welder buzzin'!! Lead |

As far as the windshield gusset bar, its just personal preference. i have seen the smaller bar size before but didn't chose that route for the reason that it wouldn't benifit anything, the roof bars triangulate through those bars, so a smaller bar there would make it the weak point. also i have ocd on certain things, it wouldn't flow in my eyes and bug the crap out of me lol |
There is actually more progress than this, ill have to go take pics tomorrow but here is a mock up of where the exhaust will go, except it will actually be coming out of the rocker panel/ quarter area
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...902_194441.jpg I also ordered a lokar gas pedal, i thought it was going to be bigger than this, but i planned on making the pedal pad a lot bigger anyways http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...902_211241.jpg |
i have my exhaust routing coming together slowly, adding sleeves to my cut-outs with 1/4" pipe.
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...004_181012.jpg made a fuel cell cage for my fuel safe tank http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...910_203939.jpg and where i have stopped for now on floor progress. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...910_204110.jpg |
That looks really good man!

So your just going to leave us hanging about this "purchase"?
|
I can say that i called Mark at SC&C and now my "$10k budget" has now been met haha.
|
|
Nice floors, what gauge metal did you use? I see you didn't put any beads in it, how is it as far as warping and pop caning?
|
Floors looking good.

I received all my suspension for the most part, just dont have a lot of pictures of it. taking 3 months to get everything you ordered takes all the fun out of it.
ATS spindles SPC upper and lower a-arms BMR front springs Ridetech single adj. shocks Fays2 watts-links The cool thing is that my c5/c6 wilwood brakes actually fit right on to the ATS stuff, which is awesome because i have had them for a year without verifying what i actually purchased. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...208_182918.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...208_212105.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...214_105856.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...214_110216.jpg Put in BMR 225lb 1" lowering spring. front is ratchet strapped down right now in the front and still too tall, so i have 2" lowering springs on the way. I should have went coil-overs..... oh well http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...3936081758.jpg |
Sounds great Scott. Did you take advantage of a vendor based Christmas deal?
I'm going to go with Ride-Tech adjustable shocks, also. |
nope, i ordered this stuff 3 months ago, just now receiving it all.
Side note: you know how hard it is to keep all the Scott's with GM a-body's straight? lol its crazy, i think there is 4-5 of us on here that post regularly |
Ok, ill be sorting out my picture problem over the next few days. transferring over everything to photobucket.
Put in my Fays2 Watts http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...215_154339.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...215_154432.jpg |
