WOW - it's like your building the exact car I would have built.

ps - plus I get more pics of the car I sold then the one I am actually building with that Kenny guy.

Here's a pic of the direction we are going with the interior. The factory dash and console has some nice lines already so the owner just wants it kept nice, clean and simple. The dash face and console insert will be a textured metal with gray black two/tone seats with perforated inserts and red stitching.

Sorry for the hijack but what's the story on teh 69 Mustang with the Coyote motor set deep in the firewall?:underchair:

The Cuda looks stellar but then again all of your builds do.

Roadster Shop 11-20-2013 09:36 AM

The 69 mustang is being built as a track car for a customer from Kansas. He has a Ford GT and just about every version of the newer Mustangs that are out. He wanted to do a 69 that he could use for track days to play with and have something more unique than what is normally out there. It has a 5.8L S/C Shelby motor with a T-56. Fully independent chassis. Anvil carbon front end and we widened the quarters. We will have to start a build thread on this and another 65 Mustang we have going to prove that we also build Ford stuff. If you are lucky Rob, we may even start a thread on the Fairlane and Falcon that we have going on.

We have been making a lot of progress ont he car since the last update. We have been playing catch up on our posting, web site, facebook, etc... since SEMA. We will try to get some updates up here shortly.

Since the last post we have done a lit of the little stuff like mounting master cylinders, pedals, wiper motors, steering, fuse box, gas tank, and A/C. On the fab side we have finished the inner fenders, front and rear valances... and mounted the turbos.

RS-Chris 11-20-2013 03:05 PM

As Phil mentioned, inner fenders and closeout wrapped up:

This thing is just awesome. I'm a Chevy guy through and through but I love the Early 70's Cudas and Challengers. Very nice build, the owner should be very happy!

I Love the wheels, I thought about going with a finish like that for the lip of my wheels but I wasn't brave enough. That blue is too cool!

camcojb 11-20-2013 03:18 PM

Incredible work.

Right now it's in the body shop and pretty close to getting color.

Here are a couple of the last details up until now:

Instead of the 'bolt on' style spoiler in the concept, we decided a more integrated look would be better for this car:

I am glad I sold you guys this car because there is no way I would have gone as far as you guys have on it. Incredible work as always guys.

wiedemab 03-05-2014 10:08 AM

Just curious -- real lead or lead-free solder.

PasiR 03-05-2014 10:43 AM

Great work guys! Looks awesome.

214Chevy 03-05-2014 05:24 PM

Love how you bevelled the egde of the spoiler and contoured it into the quarter panel.. Makes for a cleaner look.

pitts12driver 03-05-2014 07:04 PM

the blend at the junction of the spoiler and the rear quarter were handled sensitively. There is a much larger opportunity to make that heavy-handed but this is lovely.

PasiR 03-05-2014 10:55 PM

I agree, it's real nice.

village idiot 03-05-2014 11:14 PM

That was the first thing that popped into my head, haha. I admire anyone that does lead work. Handling that stuff makes me all paranoid. :underchair:

preston 03-06-2014 02:05 PM

maybe a dumb question - did you cut the trunk lid and quarter panel ? it looks a bit like you welded it on top rather than cutting the metal and butt welding it. Actually it looks like you might have hammered the metal down a bit and then top welded it. Definitely looks nicer than a bolt on style.

Thanks for the update, love those Cudas.

dhondagod 03-06-2014 10:31 PM

Wow....... Well done sir......

This color on the car looks incredible I can't wait to see it in person.

RS-Chris 03-19-2014 11:40 AM

Thanks guys - the color (Ferrari Grigio Silverstone) looks really nice, can't wait to see how this one looks in the sun (if we get any).

The Rontourage will tell you how awesome that color is. We painted the bumper for Ron's Camaro and when it was all polished up and out in the sun it has an amazing depth for grey.

The 'Cuda looks great, as with the rest of the RS projects, I could geek out over the details and execution for days.

Matt
