Finally got a few things done this week. Got the Moser 12 bolt and Ridetech 4 link installed. Got to take it back out for paint but going back in should be easier than the first time....:gitrdun:

Looks awesome, I am about to start with my ridetech bolt in 4 link, how hard was the install? also how hard was getting the brackets welded on the rear end? Is it a stock width rear or did you shorten it?

tubbed69 05-08-2015 06:42 AM

Nice choice on the wheels, looks perfect with the color:trophy-1302:

It was a straight forward install. These old cars being assembled by hand gives a little bit of trouble from time to time with the cradle not seating into place like mine did. But with a couple of jacks and effort it slid right into place. The tabs weren't a big deal either. Just follow the instructions to a T and you will be fine. And the length on the rear end is stock with multi leaf perches made to order already welded up. I also went with the big ford ends for larger bearings and bolt in axles. If you want it narrowed I think they will build it to any lengths for no extra charge.
I called Matt and Kim at Matts Classic bow ties and they took care of me with everything.

Sometimes, I think I get just as pumped about seeing some of these cars getting completed as I do about my own. This is lookin' great, Smitty!

Kind of a crappy pic but got the rear end all painted up and put back in the car. Gas tank will be next to go back in after a little touch up work I need to do after welding in the Ridetech cradle.

Smitty,

You will be happy with the 5th Gen console!
I love mine!
Maybe swap out the plastic lid for a leather covered one??
I love the carbon fiber gauge housing too, Anvil part?

Jeff

Smitty68 08-22-2015 02:44 PM

Yes they are Anvil.

It has to be modified a bit and doesn't take too much thinking to do. If you need pics I have some of it before installing.

randy 11-02-2015 08:13 PM

pretty simple to do ? I would imagine so since it only mounts on 3 spots on the car. Thank you

Smitty68 11-02-2015 08:18 PM

Here are a few pics Randy if they help. These things have been done many different ways and mine isn't any better than the others it's just the way I chose to mount it.

Yes the smaller piece that bolts to the main part of the bracket I didn't use. I cut part of it and used the smaller pieces that came in the kit to make the two you see on the left side. The one that's curved towards the passenger side of the unit bolts to the radio brace in the dash. And the one that points straight up towards the cowl will bolt through the cowl inside the wiper transmission pocket. Just let me know if you need any other info.

Finishing the front end tomorrow to fire the motor Saturday hopefully!
