Great build, love those split-windows.

Detroit speed headlamp motors are installed and functional. I cant say the same for the detroit speed wiper motor as it seems to have a mind of its own, turning on at random.

Unfortunate that i can't embed the video on this forum!!!

New tinted door and vent glass from Auto city classic is installed along with the new power window motor. One down, one to go. As per usual, the door fitment is completely different now that the components are installed and will need to be readjusted.

Shoulder belts from Corvette Central

And the ABS electric brake system if fully operational. The pump is a bit louder than I would like, but I will take the noise over the gaudy looks of a hydroboost system any day.

Billet Specialties Coil Covers

And looks like I am going to need to send the starter back as the case is cracked in half. Odd thing is that it still starts fine. It never made a noise and it was spaced perfectly, so I am not sure what went wrong.

http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/a...pscdefc49f.jpg

A few more of the Billet Specialties valve/coil covers. The pictures really don't do them justice. They look incredible in person. Once the JBA stainless steel headers and heat sheaths are installed, the engine bay should really pop. Don't judge the wiring! I still have a good bit of organizing to do.

I borrowed a beat up original 63 console from another car and have decided to switch the car back to the original style instead of using the 64-67 console that was installed previously.

I ordered a Borla rear exhaust system for a C5 and as I suspected, it tucks up under the rear of the 63 perfectly!!!

The headers for a new generation Camaro fit perfectly in the engine bay. These are JBA units.

You're right, those coil covers look fantastic and right at home in the engine bay. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely beautiful! You did an awesome job. Let me know how the LS3 drives. Curious as I have read where some people say the ASA cam is too aggressive for normal cruising and others state it is fine.

Restocreations 07-18-2014 10:43 AM

Thanks, Jay!

As long as you pair the 525hp LS3 with the right transmission and rear gear ratio, plus install a honeycomb air straightener, it is fine.

OBeer-WAN-Kenobi 07-18-2014 10:49 AM

Beautiful! My favorite year of Corvette, done the way I'd like it myself. I'd love to go for a ride in that thing.

Only one minor little detail.....You've got to get rid of the yellow ring dipstick. Maybe a dipstick with the same aesthetic treatment as the valve covers would be nice. You could simply have it dipped. That darn dipstick is the first thing I noticed in the under hood shot and my eyes kept being drawn to it. Kind of like a wart or big mole on someones face....you can't help but stare at it. LOL

fleet 07-18-2014 11:16 AM

Congrats on how it turned out...wow.

Restocreations 07-18-2014 03:36 PM

Thanks for the comments. It's not quite finished, but thanks for noticing the smallest detail on the car and critiquing it...the dipstick. :buttkick: Only kidding...yes, it does stick out like a sore thumb, but really only in photos. However, i will address it.

Here is a short run video from yesterday. I love custom stainless exhaust and Borla mufflers! I never thought I would spend so much on an exhaust system, but it was worth it!

video in next post

What gear ratio did you go with? Are you using the GM ECM/harness that goes with the engine?

Once again, it is awesome the exhaust sounds great. I cant believe C5 exhaust fit that nice. Boze rims really look good as I would have not thought those would have looked that nice on C2's.

Yes, i am using the GM harness. I am using the 3.73 gear ratio with the .84 overdrive tremec. I recommend going with hurst driveline if they have a unit for your car and you need a tremec conversion.

-Only the rear muffler sections fit well, which still needed to be modified. Im embarrassed to say how much the exhaust cost overall.

-I agree, the Boze rims fit well with the car, but i was nervous about it initially as well. it's a c2...i assume you just fat fingered that one.

Yep, fat fingered it. I grew up around C2 vettes as my uncle had 2, one was a 66 (L72) 427/450 hp convertible (one of the first ones that was labeled 450 hp, before GM re-rated it to 425 HP) that he bought new and oddly the second one was a 63 black split window. He also had a 57 and 70 LT1.

I agree with you on going with Hurst driveline. On my 69 Camaro, I have had the TK600 for number of years now and also run 3.73's. Thanks for answering my questions.

Again, car is amazing and engine sounds great! Are you going to have it tuned or stay with the GM tune?

Restocreations 07-20-2014 08:51 PM

I'll probably just stick with the GM tune.

Id like that 57! I plan on building a c1 restomod at some point.

andreb 07-21-2014 05:21 AM

That looks and sounds fantastic. Great job!
