My car is just a model toy compared to what you and some others are doing or have done on this board. :wow: I just hope it all comes out with the vision you wanted for the car.

I'm refferring to a fabrication and enginerring standpoint. I think that statement holds true. Thus your challange is to make it all come together and work properly.

Also, in getting the car to the quality standards that you have started with. You can not give in, rush this type of project, nor take shortcuts, use 2nd rate parts, etc. What ever your budget was I'm sure it will be double by the time you finish it. Getting the correct ride height, outside color right, with quality matching interior, badass rims that set the car off, all are keys to making the car sit up and take notice and takes the car to the next level. :)

Don't forget all the steak dinners for the builders...That really helps with the results......Medium well please....

You are right on all counts!!! I must say that, all joking aside, Rodger and the crew at Ironworks have helped me in making the car what it is and what it will be and for that I am grateful so I can't take all the credit in terms of the vision. Rodger Lee has been a great guide for me in terms of helping mold my ideas into reality! Besides, Rodger is a lot bigger than me so if I don't do what he says I'll get my a$$ kicked!(JK!! )His entire crew are really talented guys and I hope that the build I am doing sheds some more light on them!(Not that they really need it with all the new projects I've seen coming in as of late!)

BABA- BABY you aint seen nothin yet, BABA-BABY....

Well If you come tommorrow you shold be able to see the upper frame rails that Brycen is ever so gently bending to clear 10 gallons of stuff in 5 gallon bag. the upper rails look bitchen but you will have to cruze over the hill to see it in person. And Sean will probably start on the rear risers to the back frame section.

Rodger :wow:

Sweet !

You guys really do some amazing fab work. Thanks for posting the updates !

Hey quick question - are those stock length CV's or are they over the counter shortened - or did you guys shorten them ? Watching you and Lead and some other - now I'm thinking 335 in the back, plenty of room.

CV's???

Sales@Dutchboys 01-27-2007 08:35 PM

you have a pm sir! lol

Garage Dog 65 01-27-2007 08:40 PM

Axel Shafts. Looks like you moved the A arms in quite a bit - so I was wondering how you delt with the ned for shorter axel shafts. I'm thinking of moving mine in too once I do a final positioning of the body to fit wider wheel/tire.

ironworks 01-27-2007 08:42 PM

I have them shorten by a shop in florida. The same shop that builds the Carbon fiber driveshaft.

Rodger

Garage Dog 65 01-27-2007 08:44 PM

IF I ever get that far ... I'll give you a yell for their name. Thanks Rodger !

amazing fab work..very nice

Leadfoot1 01-28-2007 07:23 PM

Wow!

You know, I sold my coupe project (right after it was set on the jig and completely opened up and blasted/ primed...kinda like yours before frame work began) because i realized it was going to be so much work i would never see the end of it because of the time it would pull on me vs time available.

Seeing this bad boy makes me realize i did the right choice...But more so, it makes me have regrets seeing how AWESOME yours is! Man its going to be killer! (Already is!!!)

I just love those full on builds. It looks great.

I had not seen your project before today but had already had the chance to get some compliments from you on my own project, so now, be assured that they are returned, times...at least TEN!

I read this whole thread with interest and l look forward to more on the development!

Only one other thing tough... GO 335!!! (and i'm running 345's Garage Dog! + looking to get some 355's! I got bit by the Bigger /Better bug early in life  )

Definetely keep us posted!

Lead.

Thanks Lead! Your car is a monster and has inspired me with my build. Your right about how much work and time it is but I did it because most everyone told me it couldn't or shouldn't be done! Now look at it!

I love it and can't wait for it to be done!

Thanks for the compliments and good luck with "The Beast"! I look forward to updates on your car, please! It keeps me going on mine!

John,

Your frame is shaping up very nicely. I hope mine turns out that nice. Couple of questions. What minimum ground clearance are you going with? I was going with 5", but I think it will be closer to 4" once we get my motor jammed in. I still can't decide how much I will need in the "real" world.

Also, did you chance your mind about the shockwaves? I noticed that you have QA1's being mocked up.

Pete

novanutcase 02-01-2007 10:03 PM

P,

The coilovers I am using are Chris Alston Double Adjustable Varishocks. Ride height will be between 4" and 5". Corvettes are usually around there so you should not have any issues.

novanutcase 02-03-2007 10:59 PM

Nothing terribly exciting! I was bored and decided to post these pics up. We hung the doors for fitment, got the power steering pulley on the motor and are fine tuning some of the rear end stuff but, for the most part, we are just waiting on parts and materials. Rodgers waiting for some dyes for his bender so he can start on the cage.

There are probably a few reasons to come to cali. But I think you need to bring that truck of yours or the 57. If you give me a ride in yours I'll give you a ride in mine, you'll have to talk to John about the ride in his.
