That's the style I'm looking out for. A C600/700 cabover with the sleeper bench behind the seat.
I've seen that rig driving North on the 5 fwy heading back from San Diego. |

So here's a guy I found (on the dang FE Forum that required me to register :computer:) that has the same year same hauler I got. This was the only pic he could send but he hauls his 78 Fairmont race car and 85 Mustang on it. Had it for 25 years and he said it's treated him great.

1) Snuggle To make oneself comfortable, usually by moving closer to another person or thing. To embrace closely, as to show affection or offer warmth. Snuggling always helps me calm down and feel secure. 2) Snuggle Verb, To snuggle is to be very close in an intimate fashion. When one is snuggling there is no personal boundaries between the two snugglers, nor emotional boundaries. The two people are connected through the act of snuggling. Rob: Baby you look like you need to cuddle. Dave: No sweet heart I need to snuggle with you. 3) Snuggle 1. V. To get close, cuddle, and lean against each other, usually while sitting. 2. N. A friend's current crush. :popcorn2: |
Ok, now this is just getting weird!

Have you met Dave and Rob? Dave lives in San Francisco you know... He has a Camaro disguised as a Ford... Rob has an ocean liner disguised as a Torino... Rob actually BRAGS about his "lightweight" Ford FE motor... Dave thinks he's Dick Tickler -- er I mean -- Dick Tricker... no! Wait that's not it!... Dick Trickle with his NASCAR powered "street machine". And now they're going back east to pick up a Transformer. What's not weird about all of that? LOL |

I resemble the Dick Trickle remark. And considering Rob has the word "Dick" in his last name, that should be telling enough... :innocent: Quote:

I have high hopes for world peace. I've never seen a bond this strong between a Ford & Chevy guy. :D

Hell yes, the car hauler is awesome and you guys will have a blast.
Some time ago I flew to California with a buddy to buy an 86 T-type but with everything going wrong and a lot of delays we ended up driving back a 78 Trans Am. Made it back from Carson City in 24 hours. Went through several tanks of fuel at redline and also lots of ephedrine. Only thing I can suggest for this trip would be pick up a tow bar or trailer so you can bring 2 cars back with you :confused18: |

Sieg, you forgot to draw the LS engine he's gonna swap in later...:mock:

Tool boxes Jacks and stands Tire warmers? A 70 qt. marine cooler for food & liquids. Canopy & chairs. BBQ and folding table. Small Honda eu2000i or 3000i generator. Tent/Air matresses/Sleeping bags? Having a 32 or so gallon OEM auxiliary tank mounted under the truck with a pump for racey gas would be convenient too......if possible. I don't know how much room you'll have with the car on there but a wheeled construction site job-box that could be winched up behind the cab has potential. Staying inside the track vs. a motel would greatly reduce theft opportunities. I wouldn't have suggested an LS.........definitely DuraMax/Allison FTW! |

Great rendering! There's a guy on Craiglist selling 5x10 sheets of aluminum diamond plate cheap. It would look great for those newadditions, and your deiving right by here.

If there's gaps in that undercarriage to mount one or two OEM style tanks for E-85 that would be slick vs a boat (Torino) load of fuel jugs. It would also minimize theft not that it's a problem in Cali. A trailer would cover it well too but then you're towing and dealing with a trailer. If gross weight becomes an issue the trailer may be the solution though. :sieg: |

So I packed up road kit tonight.
A pair of high visibility vests A reflector/flashlight combo A small hand held LED flashlight and LED headlight A first aid kit I usually take with me on my surf trips. A pair of work gloves Mink oiled for some waterproofing My Carhart bibs from around the ranch. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...psec8403ed.jpg I threw all this in my soft tool back loaded with some basic tools (my Pick A Part kit) and threw it in my duffel bag that I'm checking in. In my carry on I'm taking my Burton Snowboard Jacket, Pants, Gloves and wool socks which I know will keep me dry and warm in the worst of conditions for some time. Even if the Airline loses my duffel I won't freeze. Of course a Pair of logger boots with Vibram soles (mink oiled by Cheryl, thanks hun) are covering my feet for the first part of the trip. The first day we hope to get out of Ossipee NH by 1 or 2 and make it to Philly by 8 or 9 that evening. Anyone feel free to suggest some routes to get there or some places to see in Philly.:headscratch:  |
Rob are you guys going to stop by ABS to see Jay on your trip?

It may be in the cards. We are playing it by ear but we do need to try and make some distance each day so we can complete the trip without having to make more than one marathon driving session. |
Don't forget your cell phone chargers --- I have a feeling they'll come in handy.
|
Ok If you guys need anything when your near Providence area I can give you my cell incase you need something.

So you've planned for 9 days of driving for a trip that takes 10 days (in a truck like this) -- and I figure the truck will be in the shop on day 2 -- for 2 days -- so now you're down to 7 days of driving for a 10 day trip... Then three shop tours takes another day out of there - so now we're down to 6 days of driving for a 10 day trip... 5 days of driving that POS will have you sleep thru half of day 6 because you've had your arses handed to you... so now we're down to 5.5 days to make a 10 day trip... Just call work and resign... and then kick back and make a trip out of it. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA |
