What can you say.:king:

We did a photoshoot last week at the TEN studio for a baremetal feature for Street Rodder Magazine in the next few months. I got these crappy cell phone pics, but man this car sure looks great outside the shop.

Another knock out!! Well done and as always thanks for sharing your builds.

The fab work on that car is outstanding. To envision that and then make it look like the plan is one great talent. Keep the updates coming, we appreciate them.
|
Awesome work!! I have been looking back at the "wedge" cut and was wondering if you cut all the way under the tail lights with sectioning or was it just a pivot point? (If that sounds right?) With the curves under them it looks like a pain to fab and work with but you cannot tell that the car was cut at all. Again, amazing work! I am partial to the 70 Chevelle you did,(wonder why?) and a 55 is on my "want" list as well. Going to be watching this thing come together! Thanks for sharing.

The Fairway 55 is moving along quickly. The details are getting more and more over the top everyday. We body is moving into the body shop next week to begin paint and body work. We have 5 months to get the car done and to Sid Chavers shop for upholstry on Oct 1st.
We took a 3 speed column shifter set up and have converted it to work in this car with detents and have that vintage look. We also are incorporating the tach mount in the steering column shifter mount. I like the look very much. We have to clearance the gauge cluster to allow access still. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ifter-02lo.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...shifter-01.jpg We have gotten almost everything needed under the hood. The throttle body is mounted on the driver side of the firewall to the intake plumbing under the dash. The supercharger brackets are getting more machine work before getting coated and prepped for the final show. The air intake box is coming along nicely. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20004.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20003.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...tubing-01l.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...tubing-02l.jpg We picked up a Rick's Tank with a Vapor works module controller for the dual pump system. Deep rear wheels and full floaters have been a challenge but I feel much safer with floaters with this level of power. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20002.jpg We also decided to ditch the bird. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...bullnose-l.jpg I thought this picture taken a few weeks ago was really cool. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...poster-01l.jpg |
So that's a bird for a hood ornament on these cars? I always thought it was a air plane. Learn something new everyday.
I see another award winner being built. This really is going to be a sleeper. |

Looking good Rodger! I like the rework of the AC and the steering column, keeps that old timey vibe, are you keeping the big red switches as is?
 |

The car is now buried in bodywork. I have all 3 of my body guys buried in bondo dust working to get the car perfect for the show the first week of November. Billet parts are arriving weekly for this car.

:wow: Awesome build!
Are you going to have a build thread on that blue 64' Malibu SS:yes: |
A little press to get this project rolling before the baremetal feature in Street Rodder Magazine.

Thanks guys. This car has been a lot of fun for a good customer. I'm pretty excited for SEMA. A little sample for what is to happen in a few weeks. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20011.jpg |

Got some engine parts sprayed last week.
http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20012.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20010.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20011.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20009.jpg We did a spray out on an old inner fender to get an idea of the amount of PPG Ice Pearl we wanted to get the right look in the light and in the dark. The exterior color has all the pearl and Ice pearl and the engine color is really just a satraight toner color. But for the most part they are nearly the same color, if that makes any sense. We did not want the pearl of sparkles on the engine itself. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20002.jpg Body work is continuing. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20005.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20006.jpg |
Busting this car out. That car will be titts when its all put together.
