Did you incorporate the outer wheel lip into the tub or is it going to still be a separate piece inside the quarter panel?
Glad you're making good progress on the car. |

Frostbite
Looking good, great thread. Considering the Autorad set up for my 67 as well. Can you tell me what other options they added to the package in your photos? AC condenser, oil cooler? Also, how long did yours take to get it? Thanks, Lee

Eugene very nice work on this bad boy! Great fab work I love that it's a Firebird getting the treatment!!

Hey ya'll,
I'm currently working on the custom spoiler for Frostbite. Ben Hermance did a good job combining the Camaro duck tail with the Firebird pedestal into a new hybrid spoiler which looks AWESOME. Here is the concept: http://i.imgur.com/hpOJWAfh.jpg Here is what I came up with: http://i.imgur.com/r1vVXuch.jpg http://i.imgur.com/E6PNeZRh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/7RPW9GPh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/755a4oqh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nAexyJhh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/4G1WLUFh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/uVVdELHh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/BHAE3j7h.jpg |
Good idea, Eugene!
|
Very nice. This is going to be special!

Thank You!! for the step by step shots. I love seeing the fab come together.

thanks for the compliments guys, I only wish I could come up with cool stuff like this. The idea was all Ben. I also appreciate all the inspiration and true talent on this website.

Great project, you guys are really doing some fantastic work!
We have a Camaro in our shop on the same chassis that was built at a different shop that we are "reconfiguring" for a new owner. http://v8tvshow.com/1969_Camaro_CG/s....16.14_003.JPG Be sure you address the pedal height from the floor... the Morrison chassis requires the raised floor to clear the chassis which eliminates the footwell depression. This car is using stock pedals and they now sit to closely to the floor. You hit the clutch / brake just above your heel and the gas pedal is a little strange feeling also. It's hard to see in this shot, but they are much lower to the ground than in a stock floor. http://v8tvshow.com/1969_Camaro_CG/s....13.14_041.jpg VS. Stock Floor: http://v8tvshow.com/1969_Camaro_LC2/...0.21.13_24.JPG The stock pedal box can't really move upward because of the cowl. We're just getting into this one, but we're adding a hydroboost and a hydraulic clutch, so we're thinking the easier pedal travel will allow us to possibly shorten the pedals without killing the ratio or feel. We have an extra set of stockers we're going to sacrifice to try it out. Otherwise, a different system needs to be employed, possibly reducing the "height" of the chassis member that runs under the footwell allowing for a dropped floor, or an aftermarket pedal box / assembly that is shorter in some way. Just something to think about in this stage, I'll follow along to see what you come up with. We'll be working on ours soon and will gladly share our findings. |
Very Cool
Wow that should be tons of fun

Hey ya'll,
Been working on the Firebird pretty hard and have some more updates for ya'll. Dressed up the engine with the billet specialities assembly. Working on the exhaust cutouts as well. Going with the Borla XR1. http://i.imgur.com/2E2dKdVh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/w4EKDRKh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0HAndFJh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RE2olu2h.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Njsgjnlh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/g3wi9l5h.jpg http://i.imgur.com/t9e4OIeh.jpg |

Awesome Hood!
Man that is one gorgeous hood ... who is the manufacture? Did you guys flare the front fenders .... how much did you push it out?
Detailed pixs of the fender flaring would be great if you have any. The car is looking amazing, great work! |

Looking great, Eugene. I really think I need to build a 69 bird to share the garage with my 79 next. This build is really pushing me in that direction.
