Thanks, sir! I was just looking at your Chevelle. Did you get the TMI kit and assemble yourself, or get the whole seats? I've been eyeing them.
Your build is SICK! |

It looks like a happy group and at the same time making progress. Glad to see you got the weather you needed to get the job done.

Car looks awesome....the color is very stunning! I'm sure you can't wait to get the car on the road. Your crew looks like mine....the supervisor always has the "beer-in-hand"
|
xx on the color

Engine Day
The guy in green clearly knew what he was doing. Too bad we did not get any pictures of the missing crew person. She was documenting the process and helped when the camera was put down. It will be on the road before long!

The thing 598 did not mention is that every supervisor picture with a beer...was a different beer. :)

Perfect! Great way to spend the day with ones friends. Looks like a good time and the car looks amazing! Really looking forward to video of it firing up and moving under it's own power.
  |
Well, had to do it. They are on their way. Been lookin' at these for a while and decided on THE SHOP, LLC. kick panels and rear tray. Seen and heard a lot of good feedback on these. Can't wait!

They are good looking for sure.

Really clean build. I love the color like a lot of others have stated. I'm jealous of your build photos with the car sitting outside in February. Looks like a great neighborhood too. Good luck on finishing things up.

Yeah, thanks. We have had some good times in our corner in the neighborhood. Some good neighbors and had some great cookouts and 4th of July and New Years block parties. :flag2: |
Thanks for the comments on my build. A mere drop in the bucket to your 69 wow!!
What pedal kit did you get and who/what brand is it? Loving the kick panels from the Shop as well!! |

Quick update. Drilled the holes in the new floorpan to mount my shifter back in and finish installing the front half of the carpet.
https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_3991-L.jpg Once I got all that lined up, I went ahead and put the original console back in it for now. I still have to trim the sides of the carpet, but I will wait until the kick panels come in. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_3995-L.jpg Throttle cable back in and adjusted https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_3998-L.jpg and this one is just me playing around with ideas. I have the old A/C control panel in there just to fill the hole until I figure something else out, but I cut a little piece of the faux carbon fiber and mounted the LED's for left turn, right turn, brights and brake and mounted it where the fan switch used to go. lol. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_3997-L.jpg |
Been awhile since an update. We had a boatload of rain, and then a tropical storm. Still working on a lot of detail things in the garage. Some more wiring and fabbing some brackets. I'll post pics of my Blaster SS coil bracket tomorrow, but I got it mounted on the back of the intake. I think I was inspired by a couple of builds here with the same concept. I think it was Vega$69. So thanks for the idea. Looks like it will work. I do have a few pics for this update. First, mocking up the SW Headers. Fit pretty well. I think they will work.
https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4016-L.jpg I went ahead and cleaned up the original wiper motor and mounted it. Those Detroit Speed wiper motors look great, but I just don't see spending $500 on a something I will probably never turn on, when I can spend it elsewhere. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4019-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4043-L.jpg Started replacing all the blue and red anodized fittings and hoses with black and stainless https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4062-L.jpg Going with 20AN Stainless braided for the radiator hose and black AN fittings. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4100-M.jpg Ran the fuel line with 8AN (1/2") stainless braided hose. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4058-M.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4059-M.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4069-M.jpg Transmission back in https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4072-M.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4064-M.jpg ...and since TS Bill is gone, why not let her get a little sun. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_7140-M.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_7143-M.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_0007-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_0008-L.jpg Headliner came in today and I have a lot of black braided wire sleeving coming in to tidy up all the wiring. More to come. Need to dump some more photos. |
Looking awesome....you will be driving this bad boy in no time!

|
Dave the car looks gorgeous!
|
Thanks for the compliments on my car.Very much appreciated. The wheels are Centerline Lazers...great bang for the buck and they weigh about 24lbs. per wheel.Great quality as well...That was a ton of great work you did to your 69...I've got a long way to go! Lol

Quick update. It's been awhile, but work got in the way for a bit. Traveled to Wyoming twice for work since the last update, but got back and was able to knock out a lot of detailed work.
Update on the headliner. A bit of a PITA, but just took my time and did one section per night. Office binder clips helped a lot. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4113-L.jpg The trick is, you pull the front and back tight first, then you can move to securing the sides. There will be wrinkles at first, but you keep working at it and with the help of a heat gun, you are able to work out those little wrinkles. It just takes time and persistence. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4116-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4117-L.jpg My seats came in from Corbeau and the 3- point harnesses from Miller. The seats don't sit too high, but I am only about 6'1'. I hear a lot of stories on aftermarket seat brackets sitting too high, but these will work for me. These seats are black leather, but the lighting in the picture make them look charcoal. They are black though. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4395-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4396-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4418-L.jpg Almost complete. It's funny, it smells like a brand new car inside, but somehow, I am going to miss that classic old car smell... I think I will deal with the new leather smell. :) https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4450-L.jpg Lastly, I got my radiator back. Had a buddy weld the aluminum bungs on it so I could do AN fittings and stainless braided hose top and bottom. Now I can finish the wiring for the fans and cover it up with braided wired loom. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4416-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4466-L.jpg Did not take any pictures of it yet, but I got the back seat back in. I modified it for the mini tubs per instructions I found on this site. It worked like a charm and fits perfect. Going to work on a few more things to tighten down and finish bleeding brakes. (found a small leak previously, but no biggie.) Then I will take to Marcel for front and rear glass and final touches. It is almost road worthy! |
It looks great. Getting near the end now, all your little details will really bring it out.
|
Update... Still not finished...(will it ever be?) But definitely streetable!
Finally got the front and rear glass back in and had a few other odds and ends done at the shop. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_0003-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_0004-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_0006-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_0005-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_0002-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...MG_0007b-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...MG_0008b-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_0009-L.jpg Got it home and popped the molding right in. A big thanks to Rush Customs and Classics for hooking me up. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4524-L.jpg Got back from out of town and had a package https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_0013-L.jpg So, what do ya do? :) https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4755-L.jpg Still need the rears, but a big difference in stopping power. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Pho...IMG_4776-L.jpg I got to take it to the first Cruise/local car show this past weekend... Got to meet a couple of Lateral-G-ers and talked Camaros. I have a few pictures...More to come... |
The car looks amazing from every angle.
