Nice is an understatement about ANY or your shops work!

Here is a little more progress on the 57. We hung all of the front sheet metal and started the wiring.

Again, not pro-touring, but thought everyone here could appreciate the work. This customer wanted something unique for his CL 550 Mercedes and wasn't happy with any of the aftermarket body kits. So, why not have the only bi turbo Cl550 with a custom aluminum rear diffuser?

in the final stages of fitting and finish metal work.

Michael

Musclerodz 03-22-2011 08:07 PM

How many hours do you guys have in the cut and buff on that 57? Your paint finishes are always exceptional

Thanks Mike. All said and done, we will probably have 80-100 hours in the cut and buff on a car like this.

waynieZ 03-23-2011 09:32 PM

It really shows. Awesome paint !

I heard the owners of the bi- turbo are a lil questionable...

You have some great builds going!

strtcar 04-09-2011 11:09 AM

I got a tour of the shop today with my car club. It was unbelievable, words cannot describe the craftsmanship and attention to detail that these guys do. Thanks for the tour.

Thanks Strtcar. It was a good event, good to have everyone out and show them around the shop. Not sure if I talked to you there or not. It was supposed to be 30-40 people and I think the total number was closer to 100. I wish we had the weather on Saturday that we did today so more people could have driven their cars out. Cold and raining one day, then 86 and sunny the next. Gotta love Chi-Town weather!

Roadster Shop 04-10-2011 05:09 PM

We wrapped up the AMG Benz and delivered that earlier in the week. The rear diffuser panel turned out pretty cool. The owner wanted it painted all black instead of doing a gun metal insert like we wanted. Now that it is completed, it is hard to tell that this is something custom!

We are getting some new wheels for it too. 20" HRE's are on their way.

If you drove the car you might think so. Wow what a car. It's even better investment when Greg lets everyone else drive it. I wish we could have driven past some old girlfriends houses.....How you like me now????:D

We've got the 57 just about wrapped up and off to upholstery this morning. Still waiting a few parts from chrome and the wheels

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...f/7f45a9b1.jpg

Looks pretty good with the charcoal mesh style wheels, but it will have a set of polished 5 spokes to keep with the original look of the car.

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...f/1b994c22.jpg

And yes, the rear bumper has the kick out for the continental kit! 335's in the back and 275's in the front with a spare tire carrier that only fits a 4" wide wheel!

On THIS car the chrome wheels look much better imo

Payton King 04-19-2011 01:27 PM

The car looks great!

Gotta love a 57 convertible. Need to talk the guy in running a 57 nomad bumper (has the license plate on the bumper instead of the trunk)

...still nothing better than a black 57.

I tried to get him into the nomad rear bumper, but he really wanted the continental kit.

GoolsbyCustoms 04-21-2011 08:57 AM

I think the conti bumper is spot on guys great work

Thanks. I agree, we went with the new polished Mag wheels from Billet Specialties. 20x12's and 18x9's with Pilot Sport PS2's. And they showed up about 4 hours after we left with the car for upholstery!

z4me69 04-21-2011 06:14 PM

Please post pics of the wheels I'm thinking about getting them for my 69 camaro

Roadster Shop 04-21-2011 07:16 PM

We haven't taken them out of the box yet. Tires are due in Monday or Tuesday and I'll snap a few pics for you once they are mounted.

RPM HOTRODS 04-23-2011 05:46 AM

You sure thats going to fit in the trailer with the conti kit on it????

Roadster Shop 04-23-2011 08:26 AM

It was close. We left the back door down on the 48 footer and it just barely made it in.

RPM HOTRODS 04-24-2011 01:44 PM

It may look better if you cut a hole in the door of the trailer and leave it hang thru the door and put a trailer tire on it!!!!! Great way not to have the spare trailer tire rolling around the trailer.
