Love the dash and the fact that you stayed with the blue interior sweet!

Dayum, that's a lot of stuff, and spectacularly done. Very cool getting all the wound up in time for driving season.

Thanks, I started in August so right about 8 months. There have been a few weekends that I didn't do anything, as I had to work at my real job on those days....I was collecting parts for over a year....

thanks, I used -6AN hose. The ends you can't see have a piece of shrink tube and hose clamp to hold them on the fittings, the other end is all -6AN fittings....

Hey Tom,

I'm in the process of trying to get my Wilwood parking brake cable hooked up as well. Have you got a picture from the opposite direction?

I assume you're using the stock parking brake pedal setup - I'd like to see how you hooked that up to the cable block since the threads are different pitch. Also, how the spring is hooked up on the far end.

http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...psofeglvvl.jpg

Thanks

Yes, I am using the stock e-brake setup...there is no pedal on a 1st/2nd gen. Nova. There is a handle under the dash that you pull out. The cable has a lead ball on the other end that hooks into a socket on the arm...The spring you see in the picture is the return spring for the cable...

What I did was drilled the threads out of the Wilwood brass block. I put a nut on both sides, so the block can slide along the length of the stock adjustment rod.....

Doh! I shoulda thought of that. I appreciate all the pix and tips.

DKz Garage 03-22-2016 05:58 PM

Hey Tom....Thanks again for taking some time to chat about your Nova. Just curious...will you be using the engine cover on your LSA? ...... would it fit in there??

Awesome build...can't wait to start on my 67/LSA build.

Love the Nova build, such a super clean car to start with.

The seats, just curious, did they happen to come from Idaho?

They look familiar!

Out of curiosity do you know what year Trans Am those seats came out of? Also are they stock covers black or grey?

Josh@Ridetech 03-23-2016 05:33 AM

Nice job. I love early Nova's! It should be fun to drive!

THANK YOU TOM! CONGRATS

Excellent work, I love how factory everything looks.

What brand hoses did you use for the power steering? They look like black braided which fits what I'm trying to build better than typical stainless.

Nine Ball 03-30-2016 03:05 AM

Congrats on the start-up! Big achievement, always makes you feel proud.

Thanks. Those are the return hoses from the cooler. They are -6AN starlite I believe. For the pressure hose, I had one made by a local hydraulic shop.

T,

Dang I was hoping they were black. I bought my trans am with a messed up bottom cushion and cover but the rest of the leather is perfect. Finding those two pieces is proving to be impossible. If they were black I was gonna offer some money for at least the lower cover.:G-Dub:

One lower cover was cracked, other had a puncture mark in it.....wouldn't have been much use....try ebay, I looked and saw some on there in black...
