Finally after owning this car for over 2 years now I am actually getting time to start bodywork. Not used to having a car like this to start with for an east coast car. This car all all original sheet metal with no rust just a few small dings.Really looking to make some progress now, picked up a new LS9.http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4tjejwyk.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psbqwukf6m.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psnk7v91av.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psmrir6fvr.jpg

So this is the Yellow car...which by no means should be confusing after your red car or the red car that's now silver and is for a friend or the car that had the blue firewall.

:waveflag:

This is the yellow car which I was doing for a friend and did have a blue firewall and then I bought it after selling y red one

Jeff, you are busier than a one legged man in a @zz kicking contest. I don't know how you get all this done but it is "outstanding work".

Sorry I missed it up to this point!

I drive past kenna a couple times a week, gonna have to get in touch with you and stop by to see these cars! I'd love to take that ls9 off your hands, but would need some 10-15yr owner financing to do so!! :lmao:

Making a little progress, stripping everything to metal to spray epoxy on before starting bodywork. Its amazing to see rust free parts like these, stripping all parts inside and out.The hood is NOS and was red and very hard to strip.Hoping to have all sheetmetal bolted on and ready to start next week.http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...pshbareovu.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psq0nihnl9.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4efifl3d.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...pslrmj7g7x.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...pss5sdvgjl.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psa2rrqgto.jpg

That metal looks so nice and clean, great job.

What process are you using to strip to metal?

Thanks,

Daniel

I used some chemical stripper,a small sand blaster and a DA sander and a lot of hand sanding

Jeff...... Looks like you are moving right along, and doing beautiful work as always! What oil pan do you use with your DSE/LS set-up? I'm ready to launch my next build and I'm getting all my "stuff" put together. I know there are a few choices that will work, just thought I would ask....
Thanks, Dave

Hello Dave,My last car had an F body oil pan but I also had DSE mounts that set back 1.5".My LS9 has a corvette pan but I have not installed it yet to see how it works. You are running an LSA this time aren't you?Have you talked with DSE about it yet, they are very helpful.

Jeff, Thanks for the input, on my current build (70 Camaro) I am running all DSE equipment, including their frame/engine mounts, which on a second gen, move the motor back 1". The stock pan on the LSA wont work. DSE does list the "F-body" pan as a part that will work. I was just curious if I was missing some advantage to running a MAST or Holley piece?? I can get the GM stuff super cheap through a friend at a dealership...so that is probably the direction I'm heading.
Keep up the good work!
Dave

Spent some time welding several holes up in the core support and inner fenders and put a new firewall in, this is the new firewall that Dynacorn is now making, got it and other parts in black primer for now.http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psahhqz5gu.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...pstmdepooo.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psigywdbwv.jpg

tubbed69 05-18-2018 07:52 PM

Picked up a couple LS9 engines, also got a new Mcleod RST clutch and Quicktime Bellhousing.Got my engine mounted in car for now to start trying to figure all this plumbing out, first time working with the supercharged engines.Putting the other engine and trans in a 1971 Chevelle.http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psfhxpfsq4.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3kg7oltk.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psijjlmkvw.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psuujbygno.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psrwalbf94.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psz5nv8ets.jpg
