Looking good, man! I missed the last couple of updates. I am excited to watch this one move along.

Been missing seeing you at the Niftee 50ees. Been there about every weekend. Now get that thing finished so you can park it out there with mine. :)

I am trying man I assure you. I have one month to get this car all put back together dropped it off to the shop last night. Lot to do on this car to make power tour just have to hope can make it. Only thing on my side is I have all the parts already to get it going. With replacing all the floor boards and trunk wiping out my paint budget will be while to get the car repainted but at least now I know the car has solid floors and everything now is fresh motor, transmission, and now rear end. Going be a ugly duckling for a while but at least will be able to drive it which is what have wanted since December when I purchased it. Lol

Zspoiler 05-14-2016 03:05 PM

You have a very nice car to begin with. And you just improved it.You can do the paint later on if and when you can afford it.Just take it out and enjoy it.

Thanks brother.

Well ran into a road block and just will not have the car done before the power tour. Interior guy did not finish the back seat and ripped the head liner. Then rock valley who made the fuel tank forgot to send some parts so waiting on them. Shop who is working on the car two employees have not been there in over week which understand there house got flooded and had to evacuate there family. Guess was not meant to go on the power tour am bummed cause sure wanted to go and was reason bought this car but is always next year. I am thankful my house has not been impacted and family is safe not like others in this area so have to be thankful for. Buddy offered let me borrow his car but man cannot drive something that does not belong to me and would feel horrible if something happened to his baby.

Rent a new Camaro and call it plan B.

I looked online and due to all this weather says cannot confirm car status due to availability from storm. I will continue to try.

syborg tt 06-06-2016 09:29 AM

I was looking a Porsche in Houston and the dealer said that it's no longer 4-Sale. I can only assume its wet

Too bad your Camaro won't be ready for PT. Take your daily if you can't get the rental (whether it's a Camaro, Mustang, Challenger), and call it plan C.

Zoomin 06-06-2016 02:52 PM

I had to throw in the towel on doing the PT as well. Not only did I not have the car ready, but can't get away from work now. As they say, there's always next year.

will69camaro 06-07-2016 06:38 AM

Story identical to mine. Car isn't ready and really cant take off work. I'm going to hit Houston and TRY to make Austin but not even sure I can get that Monday off...

He has a painter, not happy with mine. Mine will be getting painted again down the road. Mine is far from what I would consider "nice."

Sorry man looked great to me but know pics sometimes do not show everything but as stated sick build and love to see them in person some day.

Juicypop 07-25-2016 12:19 PM

Back to the drawing board I am swapping shops due to the shop have been using guess just forgot to work on my car. So am going to swap shops next week and hope to actually get this thing finished.

I have the car at another shop at the moment getting custom brake lines, fuel lines, power steering lines, and a/c lines all installed on the car. While I was there took some pics underneath of the car before it gets undercoated. Anyway learning that just buying one of these cars for sale on the site would of been a easier option. LOL I am not giving up though just yet.

Angle of panhard bar

In the pictures above I can't tell if it is an optical illusion but it looks like the panhard bar is not level by a large amount. Does the bar have enough adjustment to get it level? From my limited knowledge on suspensions I think the location of the bar sets the rear roll center. If it is not level the car will roll different amounts for say a left corner compared to a right corner. I am just learning about suspensions so if I have this wrong please correct me.

I am not sure what to say do know what a panhard bar is. LOL I know that the car has not had any suspension adjust just installed so we could move the car around.

98ssnova 07-29-2016 12:03 PM

It's the bar that run across the rear end diagonally. I would ask Speedtech if it is installed correctly. Looks like the bracket was installed to high. I could be wrong but looking at some of their gallery photos it is different. maybe its the angle of the photo. But like I said I would at least call them or PM Blake and see what he says.

Good eye. You're correct. A panhard bar is to be level with the ground when the car is at ride height in order to prevent it from behaving differently going around right versus left turns. I hate to say it but it does look like something was installed wrong there. I don't see how it can be adjusted enough to get the bar level.

Juicypop 07-30-2016 03:42 PM

I have the car at another shop now getting brake lines, fuel lines, a/c lines, and power steering lines installed and made. When I get it back to my new shop will get some better pictures and have him look at it. If it is installed wrong I know Rick will fix at Rick Stevens race cars by all means. Just my luck with this car been one thing after another. LOL

Hopefully it is installed correctly but if not it's better to find out now with it fresh in your installers mind.
With myself on setbacks, I know I'm going to have them because I have never done this before. I will try to not have them but, I will manage and accept them when they happen so as not to take the fun out of it. What do they say "It's the journey not the destination". Or something like that. Anyways keep up the progress it's looking good.

Message from Rick Stevens who did the install.

The installation was done as per the instructions that came with the kit. Yes the pan hard bar should be as close to level as possible to prevent side to side movement of the rear housing as it travels up and down. There are adjustments for that, but we didn't try to set everything up exact, because the car wasn't finished and final ride height wasn't determined yet. The brackets that were provided will only go on one way, and they are from a reputable company, so I seriously doubt you have anything to worry about. When it's all finished up, we will do a final setup and scale, and get everything adjusted properly.

Picked up a sweet score yesterday. Looks like this car will be ls powered after all. Bought a ls7 from a local member yesterday best part had the flywheel and harness for my 4l80e.

Gonna be a Bad Bitch when finished for sure

Juicypop 10-03-2016 09:35 AM

Been a while but making progress.

Well has been a while since I posted anything but my new mechanic has really been getting things done. He has fixed lot of issues from the other shop did bad work on and corrected all those mistakes. Car is still not running but is finally looking like a car again. Here is some pics from the last month my new mechanic works and works on my car on the side when he is off. I am happy with that because what work he does do to the car is done right which is something have not had before. LOL

We pulled the sbc out of the car and installed the ls7 I bought recently. We converted the ls7 from dry sump to wet sump. The accessory drive that came with the ls7 was for a impala ss which was for a low mount drive. I had to buy the high mount brackets so everything would fit right on my car. While the motor was out we undercoated all underneath the car since replaced all trunk, floor boards, and everything else earlier in the build.

We installed ring brothers door hinges on the car who I bought from a member on here.

http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/...pshzt6dfym.jpg

Finally installed the fesler trunk hinges on the car.

http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8bwcdprt.jpg

First time the car seen the light of day in probably two months. I know it is a ugly duckling but will have be this way for a while. I have talked to about ten paint shops in Houston who people referred and everyone of them said six to eight months. I know I may be in the wrong business but understand there is a reason they are that busy I guess so will just have stay like this for a while.

http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1qopxabb.jpg

I had Keith at custom works make some gauges from speed hut with there bezel. I like the way they came out I play pool so maybe not for everyone but that is what I like to do so added little 8 ball on the tach. They will light up blue and red at night.

http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/...psaap9xdov.jpg

I had Roger at emblem pro make be some new emblems for the car which he did a real good job. Going paint this car silver when the paint shop can get to it so think these will look real good on that color.

http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/...psxcufu0ri.jpg

We hope have the car running in next four to six weeks. I have had this car since December and my goal was to take it on the power tour. That did not happen then it was to take to good guys in Fort Worth in October which did not happen. My new goal is to have it running before my daughters birthday in November around thanksgiving.

Zoomin 10-03-2016 10:03 AM

Sure doesn't look like an ugly duckling to me.
