A few more progress pics.
Car is coming along. Would love some input on the kindig door handles. I think they really clean up the car. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1UD..._aD35Yl7LbXdqr https://drive.google.com/open?id=14q...mjAKzdlGLlQi9v Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

All the renderings are great. Who did you use?
|
Ben Hermance.
He has done a lot of cars on this site I think. Good guy and great resource. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Just thinking about this project today and had to post another pic of the rendering. Can’t wait for this to be done. It’s going to be awesome https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...487f4a382c.jpg

Decided on wheels. Decided to go with Budnik Tungstens in the basalt ceramic coated finish.

71 Formula Brewster Green Project
Well, after much deliberation and changing my mind multiple times, I ended up going with the Boze ProTouring wheel finished in charcoal powder coat.
19x12 18x10 Never thought choosing a wheel would be so difficult. Should have these puppies in 4 to 6 weeks hopefully. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Wheels are done.
I would like to thank Zak at Boze for getting the wheels done and answering a zillion questions before I ever purchased them. Zak was great and the folks at Boze even took an image of my Dad’s signature and were able to get his initials from the signature engraved on the center caps along with the Pontiac logo Highly recommend working with him. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ea0a50303a.jpg Zak Kingsland Boze Alloys, Inc / ZE Forged 23352 Peralta Drive, Unit 2 Laguna Hills, CA 92653 949.334.2680 phone 949.334.2685 fax 1-866-634-4626 toll-free www.bozeforged.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Coming along nicely! The wheels look fantastic. Good job, Boze!

Budnik Tungstens in the basalt ceramic coated finish
I hate to say it but I liked the Budnik Tungstens in the basalt ceramic coated finish... was hoping you'd tie the finish into the grills, headlight and running turn signal bezels like in the rendering.
I was digging the classy bronze look of it all against the Brewster green... just my humble opinion. GREAT build and can't wait to see how it turns out! |
I’m with you. It was a tough decision. I could have gone either way. In the end, I just didn’t like the tungstens on the f body.
Wheels are just such a personal preference Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Wheel choices are tough!
Agreed! Ask Jason Rushforth how long it took me to pick my wheels and then even long to pick the finish! LOL
I think your car will set the new high bar for 70-73 Firebirds! Can't wait to see it finished with the flush glass! |
Jason was kind to me as well felt bad
not buying from him but in the end I just wanted a different look. And thank you on the compliment Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Love the seats and it's cool seeing the pattern I designed. What I am really looking forward to is seeing the rear seat and if it looks close to the rendering it's going to be bad ass

Need some input. About to select the exhaust system. Any suggestions? Power is a LS376/480. Need suggestions for headers, exhaust and mufflers.
Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I thought the Pypes system I started with was well worth the money. I built my own mufflers and cut the tail pipes to dump behind the rear wheels. Otherwise, it's as they intended. I'm still on leaf springs in the rear though I'm quite low. Plenty of clearance everywhere around the axle for me.
For sound, I prefer Magnaflows. They'll get loud when you put your foot into it. Otherwise, it's a smooth, clean sound to me. The longer the muffler, the quieter. I built mufflers similar to Magnaflow's design. I only had room for 3" think mufflers and they don't make them that thin. I can't help with header brands. My suggestion is 1-7/8" diameter primaries. I wouldn't go full 3" on the exhaust pipe. Maybe start with 3" and neck down to 2.5" before the x. Or, go with 2.75 the whole way if you're building from scratch. I'd be afraid 3" will rob too much low and mid range torque to give you higher peak power. That's not worth it in my opinion. Not to mention how much louder 3". Car's coming along well. Thanks for keeping us updated. |
I did 2 1/2 all the way back and I have plenty of ground clearance.
One issue I had is I should have frenched the floor at least 2.5 / 3 inches as instead of the 1.5” that we did as we are having a few heat issues under the rear seats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
