Hey I turned the GoPro on all 5 sessions! Just FAILED to put the SD card in.... DUMB :bang:

Have spare (and stronger) struts now but the splitter has been rasied about an inch and a half or so now. Hopefully that is good!

Running Laguna Seca is going to be so much fun for you Dave! There's just something special about running the great tracks, that makes the entire "event" different than just driving a track event.

DBasher 11-14-2017 01:55 PM

I’m sure as you’re preparing for this weekend you’ve started the list, let me just add a few things.

1) Make sure the tow rig and trailer will make the trip (I’ve seen both and am hoping for the best)
2) Don’t forget the race car (it happens)
3) Have fun
4) Don’t suck (probably the most important)

 :flag2:

#7 Don't forget to drive

My very first time on track, I had just passed a Corvette and had clear track in front of me and my instructor told me that...and then said "It happens"

Good luck!!

Ahh, I can feel the love! :action-smiley-027:

The weather looks like it's gonna miss us on Saturday so it's game-on. Low 60's and dry.

These 2016 tires gotta be better than the previous 2013's. :sieg:

Let us know how many laps it takes to keep the throttle pinned over the crest of T1...... assuming you have enough motor to make it interesting. :rules:

Pretty hard to not have fun with the epic combo of Rich Bermea and Laguna Seca.

Shot of the diffuser I put on before this day but had to take off mid day as I noticed the exhaust was melting a corner of it :D

Turned on all the right buttons this time and we have actual video.

Yes, my shifting in this thing needs work. Geez...

Pretty satisfied with my first time out at Laguna. And that no major carnage or issues came about. A second day would've been great, and/or a group without beginners. This was a rare clean lap.

DBasher 11-20-2017 06:45 PM

See what happens when you make a list...or when your jackass friends make one for you? You suck less, which is practically the same as success!

Great pictures and video, I bet it’s fun to look back and watch what you were actually doing...or not doing. Good learning tool.

And about the shifting, don’t worry about it. I remember my first time driving a stick.:action-smiley-027:

Spiffav8 11-20-2017 07:25 PM

Looks like a lot of fun.

Glad you had an uneventful weekend!! And thanks for posting the video.

Man, you shift a TON there! How many times a lap anyway?

Vegas69 11-20-2017 08:57 PM

Looks like a ball to me and plenty of car too.

Thanks... I think.

I still did not make a list. The ACR next to me had one on his steering wheel. I congratulated him on that smart move.

I remembered to pull the accusump valve somewhere around lap 3 or 4 of the first session.

I did nail my "list" in sessions 4 and 5. So there's that.

There really is a lot going on at a track day ... the little things add up.

Thanks. I think I can modify a couple of the shifts there but it's a close ratio Richmond 5 speed so I think lots of shifting is just in the cards and it seems fairly consistent with the other videos I've watched there.

This is where being able to run on Sundays would really be advantageous. But I gotta get back to the fam.

I think the truth is that you watch a little too much Fast and Furious before heading to the track.... It's all good, you can admit it .:morepower

Well it's not Vin Diesel driving but the videos of the guys I watch prior to running a track day I would say are driving a lot faster and furiously than me! Of course, once you get on track all that goes out the window and you don't recall a thing.

The power is good .... for now. :underchair:

You’ve had the car for a few months now and been on track a couple times, don’t you think it’s time to send it off to the first shop for some upgrades?

I haven’t seen the book but I do get friendly reminders of “you know what you need?” It’s all good, friends helping friends make poor decisions.

If you think cars, in general, are expensive.... and that Hot Rods are even more expensive.... Buy a race car and find out what "expensive" means.

Life is expensive! Another friend of ours said it best. “Don’t spend more on a race car than you’re willing to blow in Vegas, or flush down the toilet” I’m not willing to do either so, no “race car” for this guy....yet.

Now a well handling V8, manual, street car is an affordable way of getting some seat time....I’m finding out that they cost money as well. :headspin:
