18" pindrives from Vintage Wheels? I'm probably going to buy a set from them or PS Engineering/Vintage Wheel Works.

Yes they are......................but they are made by ET. So far, I'm happy with them.

E-T Sebring wheels, instead of Vintage Wheels? That's interesting because they look almost identical. I think I'm going to look at the ET wheels, again.
What size wheels are those for your 59?
Thanks

They are identical................ET make them for Vintage. The fronts are 18X8 and the rears are 18x10.

Thanks,

Tim

I talked to Scott at E-T, today, and he told me that. As much as I want another set of knockoffs, I'll probably order a set of bolt-ons, in 18x9 fronts and either 18x10 or 18x11 rears. Plan to run a 275 front and 315 rear.
Sure glad I found your thread.

edit: By the time I spend the money for center caps w/three spoke spinners and lug nuts for the bolt-on Sebring wheels, it's not that much more money to just get pindrives.

The knock off and pin drives look super sharp! :D

Yes indeed and I love them on this car. They are very befitting. Are they one piece, cast wheels or are they multi-piece?

I'm thinking I am going to need shorter springs for the rear. This is on its weight and looks to have a rake. I personally, do not like these cars with a rake.

http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7ft9erkg.jpg

I must say, one of the items I have been TOTALLY thrilled with is the bumpers just bolted on...............and square as the day is long. The front sheet metal fits much better than is used to with the original chassis.

Outstanding !

NAPA 68 06-19-2018 07:00 PM

Ride height is set. Now just a few bugs to work out and get the engine and trans tuned. Really close. Then I'll take a bunch of finished pics.

214Chevy 06-21-2018 12:51 PM

That is just all sorts of cool. Great choice on wheel color/finish too.

NAPA 68 07-14-2018 05:14 AM

We scaled the car out yesterday. This is with me in it (250lbs). I dont think I could have gotten a 50/50 weight bias if I tried.

I had a problem with the rear bottoming out, regardless of how I set up the shocks.

Big shout out to the Roadster Shop! They have been uber helpful in the fine tuning................service after the sale!

NAPA 68 07-19-2024 12:04 PM

This car has been BORING! We just drive the hell out of it:lol:

I've been busy with so many other things, that I have not focused on this car all that much. Until as of recent. I have what looks to be a reoccurring issue with spark plugs (twice). I thought I'd throw it out there to see if any of you may have an opinion or experience that is similar.

I rolled the car out of winter storage this year, and proceeded to go for a ride. The engine developed a miss to it. I figured it out to be the #2 cylinder (running much cooler). I pulled the plug, and that looked good. Checked for spark on that cylinder, all good. Took a compression test, all good. Swapped injectors......no change. I then shot gunned a spark plug at it, voila! All good now.

Then yesterday, just driving along, and it starts to miss again. I got the car back to my shop, the number 8 cylinder is running cool. I then proceeded to change out all of the plugs, and we're good again.

In the pic, I am pointing at the #8 plug. Admittedly, the #2 looked much the same when I pulled it. in both instances, the plus seems to be breaking down under load. So, could I just have gotten a load of bad fuel? Are these plugs known to be that sensitive?

The remaining plugs (except #2) have just about 6k miles on them

https://i.imgur.com/7SkZumSh.jpg

And a pic of the car as it sits today
https://i.imgur.com/NAu3lyIh.jpg

I am not trying to overthink this. Let me know if I am?

In advance, thanks for your thoughts.
Tim

214Chevy 07-19-2024 01:23 PM

Che70velle 07-23-2024 07:43 PM

I’d try closing the plug gap up about .005 and see if it will retain a tad more heat without messing up the actual heat range of the plug. Fwiw the tune looks great from what those plugs show. Also make sure the engine (block) is still well grounded. Killer car man!!!
