Hi im Justin age 32 work for Verizon doing large business networks (sonet) I live in a suburb ofDallas Texas. Waiting on my newest family member a girl means I have to try again for a junior gear head!!

Richz68 06-10-2005 10:28 PM

I am 35, married and one daughter & a bulldog. I work in the aftermarket automotive industry which seems great on the outside, but 95% of my money is spoken for at the end of the week and gas & an ocassional lunch tab usually takes care of the rest.

I live in NE Ohio were we average only about 180-185 days of sun PER YEAR

It is a depressing thing, but the cost of living vs. quality of life is trully among the best in the country. NO Quakes, Hurricanes, Mudslides, almost no twisters not bad over all......... WINTER SUCKS though

TonyL 06-10-2005 11:39 PM

Hi Im Tony Ive got 4 kids, Im a maintenance supervisor for a large apartment complex in Sacramento California. I've got many projects in the works from a 65 corvair with 4 wheel 93 camaro disk brakes to a full custom mini truck (an isuzu p'up) that my son and I are building.

ohcbird 06-11-2005 11:32 PM

Jeff here...

Originally from Detroit, MI- had some great years there. Worked for Holbrook, March, Roush, Turbo engineering during HS and college. Got tired of working two jobs (one an unpaid internship) and college, so I joined the navy. Been around the world several times over, done lotsa things. As of '99, I now fly P-3s for the Navy (was enlisted for 12 yrs before that). Currently in Jacksonville, FL. Plan on opening a dyno/EFI shop here in NE FL in a couple years (oh happy day- 1st retirement).

Project is a 68 Firebird Sprint (inline 6). Yup- a six. It's turbo'd, DFI'd, Juiced & is very light. The chassis & stuff are (I guess) typical PT stuff- DSE front, mini's in the rear, big brakes. I've done over 30 1st gens over the years & have a 68 RS/SS Camaro w/BBC, so it was time to do something different.

Next...

I've built about a dozen cars and trucks and i currently have two trucks that i am working on.

During the day i sell packaging and at night once my kids go to bed i sell parts for GMC Syclones, Typhoons & Sonoma GT's. www.sportmachines.com My goal is to start building lowered sport trucks in the next couple years.

I am born and raised in Surrey, BC Canada (30 minutes from Vancouver and 2 hours north of Seattle WA).

I own and run HzEmall Customs, we do car audio, security, one off electrical systems, custom interiors, performance, suspension.

I've been into cars since I was 14....................I am competly anal in detail when it comes to my work and it has gotten me to where I am now and given me the reputation that I have as being one of the best. No job is to small or to big for me so long as it's done my way............ I live by the motto that things need to look better behind the scenes then they do on top cause people expect hidden disasters behind panels and you never know who has a camera.

We are building my Buick Regal to be shown at the 2006 SEMA show.

one+g 04-09-2006 01:46 PM

Saw this and thought I would add to it

I am 30 and have loved taking things apart since I was a child. My dad told me when I was eleven I could have his truck (jokingly). It was a 71 Ford. I took him serious and decided I would restore it. I stripped the body down to the cab and chassis. He came home from work and freaked out!!! I have owned all types of makes and models and now have narrowed my focus to curves and freeway speeds or better. Just sold a 2000 ls1 ss in jan. Still have a 5.0 coupe project in limbo. I was a supervisor for the railroad in Cincinnatti and lived in independence KY. I was promoted to South Carolina and worked 70-90 hr weeks. I have a 2 yr old son and a 4 month old daughter, a loving and supportive wife. We made the decision for me to step down and moved back here to Douglas Ga. We have been so Blessed by God. I work less and we have so much more. Currently I do welding on the rail for Csx in this area which is one of the busiest Core routes in the south. From 58-90 freight trains a day move through this area. I look forward to getting another Malibu project and running it on a road racing course for fun. My son is only two but I am already enjoying involving him with the wrenches. One funny story. On the coupe Iwas making hammer adjustments on the core support and later I looked up to see him with the hammer at the pass door. I caught him before he hit anything but he definately wants to do as I do. He has been to the dragstrip from the age of 4 months. I was involved with latemodel auto salvage on the internet but choosing poor business partnerships ended that. Hoping to get involved again on the business side at some point. I enjoy the honesty and maturity on this website and the quality of the car builds I see.

Anyone going to the year one cup in Atlanta this month?

Ummgawa 04-09-2006 02:20 PM

I live just outside Atlanta, Commercial Loan Broker (Strip Malls, Commercial Development,etc.). Currently percieved as a dumb ass southern boy by a few unnamed but well known groups of folk that are not car guys (but act like they are).

We'll see.

ProStreet R/T 04-09-2006 11:26 PM

I've been around here for a bit, mostly just admiring some of the awesome cars being built and planning one of my own.

I'm 25, no PT car but have a pretty clean 01' Viper and a big diesel pickup  Live in Newport Beach, CA. Have a degree in Mech Engineering but really haven't put it to much use :willy: I quit a stable 9-5 about a year ago to start a business with a friend and that has completely drained me, but it's been an awesome learning experience.

note: If you ever think about starting a biz that has anything to do with alcohol production, DON'T! Working with the gov't is a nightmare, and after that you get to play with the sharks (aka billion $$$ empires).

And before we even get product into production it looks like that venture may be bought up by another company. :( Not so much by choice, but what can ya do.

So now we're looking into the next phase. Likely turning towards realestate developement and high end interior fixtures etc. Ever seen a hand layed carbon fiber sink, or counter top :unibrow:

I'm also do free lance design work for a few high performance shops. (Twin turbo systems, custom intercoolers, and the like)

Oh and anyone local hiring? I'm semi-looking for a regular job till I recover from the last stint. :faint:

Stephen, I'm 25, I am from Birmingham, AL but I am living in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for the next few years for medical school. The lack of a project car is due to having no funds/time for a project, I am just taking mental notes for future projects and enjoying the many nice cars on this site.

Wow, there are a lot of cool people with cool jobs on here.

Anyway, I'm David. I am also a car-o-holic. My fiance' says that I have a "useful sickness" , she is a keeper  . I am going to school for autobody, and work full time in a furniture store warehouse (to pay for the school :( ). That is pretty much my life at the moment. Work, school, my fiance', wishing I had more money/time to work on my cars, and various message boards to try to keep reasonably current with new parts and with others projects.
