Personally, I like the idea of the hood vents. I vote yes...

Nlped47 04-04-2020 09:51 AM

I like them too, plus they will quite a lot with underhood heat dissipation. So, winner-winner

I'm not sure the car has the right attitude for the hood vents. In general, I like them. I think your car might flow better with a flat hood or a small cowl hood like Mike, glassman, has on his hood though.

syborg tt 04-11-2020 04:45 PM

I like the idea of the hood vents. My only concern is rain getting into engine bay. Sounds like a pain to keep clean.

Bet this one won’t see much rain...

rain

Was going to say same thing on rain. Have seen many threads on issues with various hood holes and water problems later. Got to be careful on drain planning with those.

Got some parts in for the electrical side of things. Car will have a full mil-spec harness. I’m running a Haltech 2500 ECU and their wideband controller. Going to run a PDM on this car to help reduce the wiring and I’ll be able to use a can bus keypad for most of the controls. I’ve also decided on a MoTeC C1212 for the display. Haven’t bought it yet but got the flush mount coming for it to build the dash out with.

I really wanted to do something different for the fuel tank. With the help of Tim@Gap Racing we came up with a tank design that dropped in from the top and replaced the trunk floor. It will hold the same if not more than any other factory style tank but allows us to keep it on the same plane as the roll pan without hanging down. I couldn’t be happier with the way it came out. It'll be powder coated and hardlined off the Radium FCST which houses dual Walbro 450's.

Looks awesome and I wanted to do that with my car.

Years ago Rad Rides put an early Mustang tank in the Notorious Nova. Looking at your pics makes me regret not doing it in my car.

Thank you fir sharing the pictures and for making me re-think my fuel tank set up.

I should also mention I love this build.

Got the steering shaft mocked up today. I’ll end up welding the center in to get rid of the set screws. I’ll have to pull column to get it in and out but that’s not a big deal.

Decided on a diff route for the intake. Got a set of billet valves covers coming to
match. They will all be coated to match the wheels.

214Chevy 05-22-2020 03:10 PM

Sweet...I see that's Frankenstein intake. He makes some good stuff and is local here to me just outside of Dallas.

WSSix 05-22-2020 08:29 PM

What a gorgeous piece. It's going to look great coated.

Interior rendering finished up.

WSSix 06-23-2020 08:32 PM

Very nice! Classy without being over the top in design.

syborg tt 06-23-2020 08:42 PM

Wow Wow Wow

I love the rendering. I’m dropping my Holley dash surround off on Friday to have it Frenched into the sheet metal panel from Custom Works. My plan is to put a clock on the right side and still trying to figure out my left corner. Possible the headlight switch.

Just not sure.

Some more progress at Gap Racing. Air filter box and coolant overflow will be in each front corner and match the fuel cell.

What made you decide against carbon inner fenders? Looks great!

I’ve seen them shrink and crack.

Good to know. I was thinking about a set but, it's big money considering what you saw!

They look great and that’s the route I was going. But the set I saw was rubbing real bad on the control arm and I know it wasn’t when car was built. I’ll probably have more in the metal ones but they won’t shrink.

You can always hydro dip them to look like carbon fiber :)

The intake is almost finished. Have to close the lids out with something similar to the fuel cell. Working on the exhaust as well. I’ll post some more pics when it’s done.

ScotI 12-10-2020 07:26 AM

Very clean intake set-up. I like the symmetry of it.

streetbird 12-10-2020 08:33 AM

this engine bay look amazing

WSSix 12-11-2020 06:07 PM

Wow! Very nice work with the intake. I'm glad you're taking the time to make it flow and look good.
