Well I know why that hood is taking for ever, that thing dies not look easy for sure. Maybe once you se it but when your fabricating and trying to figure out the puzzle. I know I would stare it for a while 😳

214Chevy 08-06-2020 08:26 PM

Frank, it'll slope down towards the rear like the angle of the supercharger...hopefully, taking some of that "wow" out of it. Either way, we'll see, won't we?! Once, it's finished...any two ways about it, I told my builder, we're gonna paint it and roll with it.

Ketzer 08-09-2020 02:02 PM

Awww man, covering up all that sweet blower goodness...? I'd be too tempted to just leave it sticking out!!

Anyone ever consider an acryllic cowl induction hood?

I have, but don't know who could make one. Besides, it would cost an arm and a leg too. I mean, we know the big time/heavy weight builders can make anything. But, by the time you'd pay for the R&D, etc. the price would be astronomical.

Biggest regrets for me. Not getting Nu-relics, and not getting a cage done. Add in the supercharger for good thoughts.

C'mon Tony...you can add all that stuff this winter when you put the car away. What say you?

214Chevy 09-25-2020 08:17 PM

New hood idea!! That other one was just way too big and wasn't gonna work. Thanks again too frankv11 for the vents. Frank also made my dash pad and gauge cluster too. Also got a bunch of other small parts powder coated too. Had Evod Industries make my headlight bezels out of billet and will match the custom billet grill too. Steering wheel and dash pad is wrapped in Relicate Leather. Car should be going to paint soon.

Those are the Vintage Air cut outs for the a/c vents.

Are those side mirrors from the new mustang?

They look to be from BBT fabrication, along with the door handles and rear view mirror. Some VERY nice pieces there

x2. Yes it does!

WSSix 09-27-2020 02:26 PM

That's shiny. Custom or a factory color, Marcus? It's going to go well with those gray trim pieces.

Thanks Trey!! It's a Modern Classikk color...from Kindigit's new paint line.

Che70velle 09-27-2020 07:45 PM

Love the color Marcus! Keep at it and you’ll be driving it before you know it.

Thanks Scott and Brent. I'm really happy with this stage of the build. This is the fun part. Body work is all done and is ready for paint. Not a big detail and one of those small things that one wouldn't necessarily notice unless it was pointed out. But, in the last two pics...I used Holohan's Hot Rod Shop recessed door lock and marker light kit.

214Chevy 09-29-2020 08:46 PM

Got the rear taillights powder coated and assembled, but I'm going to have Evod Industries redo the lenses to integrate a white reverse lens with a yellow blinker.

Car is painted and I'm really happy with the color. I'm sure we all know and can agree that paint color is probably the hardest thing to decide on because once it's on there...it's on there and is a costly redo if not chosen carefully. The whole car has not been cut and buffed yet, only some pieces have had a first pass on cut and buff, but wanted to share as I'm beyond excited. The final cut and buff will occur after assembly.

Just another example of why blue is my favorite color. Good job and getting it past paint, Marcus. Great choice on the color. Any accent stripes planned?

ScotI 10-05-2020 07:43 PM

I must have missed where there was a change of direction on the hood??

Thanks Trey...no stripes or anything. Just a solid color this time for me. Everyone else has stripes and I couldn't think of anything out of the ordinary, so I wanted to be a bit different I guess and just kept it bare.

Yes, you missed it...changed direction on the hood about a month ago.:lol: That other hood was just way too big and wasn't gonna cut it.

Those are from Dutch Boys. They're on their website for sale. My builder found those for me and I was definitely with it.
