Morning everyone ... my apologies, I've got a little catchin up to do.
Ok so, body is taking little longer than I thought as it's out of my control ... no surprise there Mechanically, we are coming along !! This thing is going to be crazy, I cannot wait to see this come together and drive it. It surpasses all the 4X4's I've built to date by a mile. Can you say "ground clearance" ... LOL https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...fa97a17_4k.jpgIMG_1085 by Steve Heck, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...3bf1073_4k.jpg72128032789__2D7E7EF4-AB71-445B-B62A-3FD829A6F327 by Steve Heck, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...d5e8964_4k.jpgIMG_1069 by Steve Heck, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...951dc28_4k.jpgIMG_1083 by Steve Heck, on Flickr |

I agree with Chris.
Nice choice on color and the interior is going to look perfect. |
I love the color!! Going to look sick!
|
I like the interior, rugged but luxury. Exterior is a solid choice too. I think it'll go well with the gold wheels.
Does Toyota have any classic colors to pull from though? Chassis looks great, Steve. Sorry to hear the paint isn't working out as well as you'd hope. |
Thanks Gents, feedback always appreciated especially when its exactly what I was hoping for :thankyou:
Trey, I know ... so here are our options from Toyota This is heath grey, an original FJ40 colour.. Looks VERY different in lighting conditions Green here ... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...b65e8eed_k.jpgIMG_0084 by Steve Heck, on Flickr More grey here ... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...b817f8c3_h.jpg1707674424626 by Steve Heck, on Flickr And then a colour my painter did on a G wagon that was VERY close https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...2a070839_h.jpgView recent photos by Steve Heck, on Flickr |
Oh ... and Chris and Marty
Not gold but close enough This will give you an idea ... Thanks guys, just realized that I will have to powder coat the silver bead retainers black ! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...0a5bfa71d6.jpgScreenshot 2024-02-13 at 7.03.10 AM by Steve Heck, on Flickr For reference https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...6f113464_h.jpgScreenshot 2024-02-13 at 7.17.42 AM by Steve Heck, on Flickr |

I thought the Defender was grey at first. Took a couple pics before I realized it was a green. Tough choice with color selection. I know I'd be pulling on my hair with this decision.

Ya, this is a very tough decision, definitely down to the two on the left. Just purchased the new front seats yesterday, decided to go with the NEW RECARO Cross Sportster's, either colour I go with these will be perfect https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...59285d64_b.jpgScreenshot 2024-02-16 at 7.00.41 AM by Steve Heck, on Flickr |
You sponsored by Recaro???.. isn't that the 4th car with them

Ok, here are the 1st preliminary designs for the dash
Some pretty cool stuff happening here, 3D carbon printed surround, for the Dakota Digital dash, the centre section 'Land Cruiser' logo area is completely louvered / vented for the centre AC and heat. And, as you can see fully custom glove box, and you will also see a large round dial below ... this will be a second piece of the dash that will hold both the large suspension dial, as well as the start button and the E-brake (not shown yet) Let me know what you guys think https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...37b1cafb_b.jpgIMG_2924 by Steve Heck, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...24959ab8_b.jpgIMG_2923 by Steve Heck, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...6f11daa3_b.jpgIMG_2925 by Steve Heck, on Flickr |

Drip rail was really beat up so we decided it had to go https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...72d0ed9_3k.jpgIMG_5807 by Steve Heck, on Flickr |
Love it ... looks better without a drip rail but remember morning dew and open windows mean wet interior...lol.
|
LMAO !
Silly Ryan, you know that some rich dude in LA, Vegas or Arizona is going to buy this thing !! Cheers Steve |
Steve your right how stupid of me ..you build something amazing and sell it of course lmao... will you ever build something and keep it??, maybe youtube it and some money ??? Lol be a YouTube millionaire
|
I dig the dash design. Having the center be a vent is cool.

Update guys ... did a little 3D printing for the mock up and I absolutely astounded at what can be done these days with technology.
Extremely happy with the way this is coming along, this will be my best build to date .... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...0f774f6_4k.jpgIMG_6100 by Steve Heck, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...e8dbad3_4k.jpgIMG_6098 by Steve Heck, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...12a33ea_4k.jpgIMG_6101 by Steve Heck, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...dba5c57_4k.jpgIMG_6106 by Steve Heck, on Flickr And made some custom carbon fiber louvers for the supercharged LS3 https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...a11e2dd_4k.jpgIMG_6122 by Steve Heck, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...9768501_4k.jpgIMG_6118 by Steve Heck, on Flickr |

That does look good, Steve.
Will the truck need to go through an inspection before it's allowed on the road? I noticed the speedo is MPH. I know your newer cars must be KPH as the primary. Glad to see the progress. |
