I thought about it Kurt! ;) Naw, my budget is pretty much shot at this point, fortunately I have most everything I'll need to finish it, at least as far as the expensive stuff goes.

Good lord...Been offline just today & 9 pages on this thread already. Sucks to be popular, huh Jody!! LOL!!

Looks killer Jody. Can't wait to see the whole package. How about some sheet metal valve covers & hide the coils inside? The inside rails look so slick. Wish mine had them!

By the way,...No thanks to you, I'm looking at other avenues on making MORE HP. We'll I can't totally blame you - but I had to throw your hat in! :D

Mine names Jody, and I'm a horse power junky!

Jody, I don't know if it has already been posted but can you give us a run down of the motor/turbos specs? I'd love to hear what kind of motor this killer intake/turbo setup this is going on. What kind of numbers are you shooting for?

402 LS2. 11 degree 240CC ET Performance Heads. Turbo grind hydraulic roller from W2W with Morel lifters. Twin liquid-cooled T67 Precision turbos.

Shooting for 1100-1200 on race gas and 750-800 normally. I am also using a Racelogic traction control. If it works as advertised I'll keep the power and boost up, if not I'll back it down a lot.

Cool, for as long as I have known you, you have always been into high horsepower machines, its not just a "phase" for you  Can't wait to see this one, its been awhile since you had a real musclecar huh?

As you know a ton of power means nothing if it can't hook. This traction control is supposed to solve that issue and is used in a ton of high power turbo cars.

If it works, then you can have good traction on launch and out of corners with a hellish top end charge.

I sold the twin turbo 69 (unfinished) in 2005, so it's been back to the yellow car since I've had a completed older car. The Lightning I did ran 11.20's on the street tune, so it was a 10 second ride on race gas, but nothing like these older muscle cars. Also did a twin turbo 05 GTO which is where my 402 LS2 came from, cool car.

Jody, you're also going to be running a vehicle speed / gear based boost controller, right? That alone will be a big help.

That is the plan, but I'm going to see how this Racelogic system works first.

fatlife 11-08-2006 10:52 PM

Man if you can get 8-1200 hp to hook that will be one insane ride, especially if it is in the PT style, hopefully it turns just as well

Me too, very interested in that, but if you can make the Racelogic controller work "less" by running only as much boost as the tires can handle (or a bit more) at a given speed then it might run faster as the racelogic box won't be cutting timing/injectors as much.

With the racelogic box using timing retard as the initial "power cut" you might seriously want to consider adding EGT probes in the headers, at least one in each collector, because when the traction control cuts the timing things are going to get REALLY hot in a big hurry.

Hogan's does nice work. If it wasn't so "trade secret" I'd take some internal pictures of the HRE & Hogan's manifolds on my friends Pro-Stock Hemi's... trick stuff. There's a reason the intakes are covered in thin sheet metal in the pits. :unibrow:

As I understand it doesn't retard timing, it cuts the spark completely. Does the same with the injector so it doesn't go lean.

Looking good, man. I like that you are going with V-band exhaust flanges on the turbos, pretty sweet.
