What kind of harness/computer are you running?
|
It's the factory E38 and harness that's been reworked by Speartech. I'll be using the throttle by wire.
It's pretty slick. Speartech has it down to a simple plug and play, all the extras, like VATS, have been removed. |
Looks AWESOME Scott. Glad to see the project moving along again .
I sure do wish Wayne could have stayed in business. I was wanting the same frame you have, as I had converted my stock frame with DSE coilovers etc. I would love to have R&P and NO header issues. Once you get the engine fired, you will get motivated I'm sure! |
Dry sump tank is on the way. Getting closer to making noise. :woot:

Did you decide to sit in the car, and wanted to listen to some tunes, and just plug the antenna in and lay it on the ground instead of just installing it?
LOL just kidding. |

LOL! Scott, looking great man! |
Scott your car looks Killer. :hail: LS7 :hail:

i think you need to take a day off and work on that lawn....looks like a fire hazard:rofl:
|
Looks killer scott! I love the changes you have made with things!
thanks for sharing some pics.. |
Winter can be tough on the lawn. :D The fender is hanging by a couple of bolts, I loosely mounted it so I could get a better feel for where the dry sump tank is going. Then I decided as long as it was all together, I'd roll it out of the shop and sweep up. I didn't bother messing with the stupid antenna. It's coming out anyways.

Are you going to build
new oil hoses or do you think the stock ones will work? When Jim was helping the Hendrick's LS7 59 Vette he had to make new hoses. He cut the ends off and welded them to AN fittings. If you need to, I can get you his number and y'all can speak about it.
|
I have -12 AN adapters for the pan. Makes it an easy job.

Man! you have all the cool stuff
Off the shelf stuff is way better than having to make it yourself.
|
Those HRE's give that car a mean disposition.
You gonna keep it red? |

I am just poking fun  |
Scott,
I am learning more about the LS2/7 stuff now. There are major differences in the electronics to make them go from the LS1 stuff, or even the early/first gen LS2 motors. The 07 Trailblazer SS has saved the day for the hot rod guy doing an auto trans, as you can get the E67 computer from that and the trans module to power up a 58 tooth reluctor in a hot rod application. The E38 is a Vette computer - and is best suited for a manual trans. |
Getting ever closer to firing up the LS7. I'm using at set of Kooks stainless headers, but had major issues with steering shaft and the #1 primary. I sent them to Stenod Performance and had them cut out the primary and fabricate a new one to my specs. They did a fantastic job. I couldn't be happier. While they were there, I had them install a set of V-band clamps on the collector. They even removed the Kooks stainless steel name plate and TIG'd it on the new primary.
Check out the welds. https://lateral-g.net/g69/project/motor/0054.jpg https://lateral-g.net/g69/project/motor/0053.jpg https://lateral-g.net/g69/project/motor/0055.jpg |
Here's a few more items to go along with the update. I got the MODO Innovations pedal mounted to the LS7 throttle by wire assembly.
I also got a Nitrous Express LS7 MAF system. It's absolutely trick, it ties into the TPS wire on the engine harness and self learns where WOT is, which in turn is the switch to activate the shot. The nozzles and solenoids are all contained in a billet MAF housing that's annodized black. It's a beautiful piece. https://lateral-g.net/g69/project/interior/0022.jpg https://lateral-g.net/g69/project/motor/0052.jpg |
bitchin' Bob! :D

You have all the cool stuff!!!!:D
Thanks for the update. Tim |

Scott's always got the coolest parts! Your car is gonna be SICK when it's done Scott
|
Those pedals are SWEET! Keep the pics coming!
|
Very cool Scott! lookin' good!
|
Sweet!! I love the welds, perfect!!! Getting closer!!
|
Ditto for the welds! Thats what i noticed first, WOW!!!
...Man i need to practice. Lead. |
Damn are those pedals sweet! Got any pictures of it in the car yet?
Stenod |
I hope my new project turns out half this nice.
Are those Kooks headers specific for our kind of application, or are those just 4th gen headers that you modified? Get this project finished and on the road, so the rest of us can live vicariously, at least until you rip it apart for the next engine! |
They are 4th Gen F-body LS7 conversion headers. They're close as is, but I had Stenod Performance move the #1 primary to clear the steering shaft (as well as weld on a set of V-band collector flanges). The headers will work great, but since they're for a 4th Gen, the collectors don't point straight back and aren't quite symmetrical. You'll never see that with the car on teh groun, hood open, etc, but when it's on a lift, it will be obvious. I'm not worried about that though, it's performance first, symmetry second.
I'm very close to firing it up. I'm just waiting for a few parts to show up, then I simply need to plumb it, add 12V, and make some noise. :) |
Very Cool Piece - It has me thinking

Scott, I forget, what exhaust did you say you were going to go with?
|
What transmission are you going with behind the LS7?
Will you be using a SFI bellhousing? |
The exhaust is 3" mandrel with and X and the mufflers are Spintech.
The T56 is a reworked unit from Rockland Standard. Right now, the bellhousing is stock, but I'll be looking into an SFI approved steel bellhousing down the road. |
