Guys I just wanted to let you guys know of a very reputable place to buy LS drivelines. Hilton Motorsports here in Canada are very well stocked with low mileage drop outs at reasonable prices. To boot Bob is a great guy and knowledgeable for your LS install. Thanks again Bob for all your help.

Well after around 8 hours and a few beers with a buddy the drivetrain is in place with a stock F body oil pan with no mods to it.Fits like a glove.....man Im tired but a huge step forward.Enjoy the pics.

Nice work getting the motor in, I'd highly recommend some Longtube headers it will really open the motor up.

Well I have some more progress to show you guys. After dropping in my LS1 I ran into a few fitment issues. One in particular was my factory vacuum booster wasn't allowing one of my coils to bolt down.So I had a 2001 C5 booster and master that I wanted to use.So after talking to a few of our members here I went for it.Basically what I did was tranfer over the factory booster bracket and modify it to bolt onto the C5 booster so everything could bolt in smoothly together.Hopefully the pics are self explanitory but please shoot me some questions I"d be pleased to answer them. The whole process took me about 6hrs and it fits perfect.

Steve

Looks awesome Steve. You're gonna love the rotisserie. You won't want to ever crawl under a car again after working on it that way. Keep the pics coming.

aany001 11-14-2010 07:15 PM

well I finally finished mocking up my exhaust for the second time!! Was going gen1 style engine with headers but things have changed to LS1 so some changes needed to be made to the down pipes.Headers are not in the budget so this will have to do.Quite a job to do on your back I tell ya:mad: .Anyways I got it done and also received my custom engine harness from Howell and I gotta say what a sweet harness.Well enjoy the pics.

I just read through the whole build and it is looking great. I think I noticed that you leaded the roof seam and some high stress areas. Did you do that yourself, or farm it out ? Going to do the same on my car but was not 100%confident to neutralize the tinning acid. Helps to get advice from someone who knows. My roof seam is pretty rough and too deep for plastic in my opinion. If you would explain that process in a little more detail it would be appreciated by others I think.

Thanks !

Thanks for the kind comment but I cant tell you how its done I just watched my buddy do the work.I will ask him to come by my place and he will post up how he did it. That stuff really works well and minimizes the amount of filler required to finish that area.I myself can say that first he stich welded the entire seam slowly. He would do about 2" and then I would cool the area with my air blower and we repeated that until it was all welded up.Then grind and then he prepped it but I will let him take over from here.I will get back to ya.
