Hey Paul,

Does that shoulder harness bar come out?

Mark, clearly you have connections in GM that you can leverage to get the LS9 blower pieces, I think this is a fantastic approach. However, can mere mortals such as myself get the necessary top end parts to pull this off using their existing short block? I have a Darton-sleeved LS2 block that I have gone back and forth with wht to finish it off with for too long, a blower appeals to me a lot more than the complexity of a turbo setup. I honestly haven't done research to see if this is commercially available, but if you have a direction to point me tho, that would be a huge help.

Nice job on the build, as usual. Very cool.

All the parts are readily available at you GM dealer. The positive and negative to the LS9 blower is you need to run the LS9 accessory drive. It works and packages great but it is spendy. The blower is pricy also. I purchased my engine at Thomson Automotive. http://thomsonautomotive.com/home.cfm?content=ads.cfm.

To buy the blower, accessory drive, throttle body and sensors will cost a lot. A stock LS9 create engine is $21,000 and these 7.0 L engines are more than that.

Gotcha, might be a lot easier and more economical, albeit with less output to use one of the aftermarket units for my lesser project. By the way, the dyno graph is pretty awesome for a truly reliable powerplant (and relatively "simple" too based on leveraging GM's engineering talent....). Should be a real monster.

Mark, I understand that you are working with Hybrids at GM these days? I landed in teh same industry, but on the heavy duty side. Interesting stuff, it is strange to work with a lot of folks who's mission in life is to reduce emissions and fuel consumption, while I hobby on cars that are quite the opposite direction!

Best of luck with the build, and thanks again for the info.

Oven cleaner takes too long.... I use CRYSTAL DRANO -- it's about $3 a can -- it's powder (crystals) form not liquid... dump a little of it in a PLASTIC bucket -- string your fittings on something you can use to "dip" them (I use welding rod) add just enough water to get the mixture right. You know when it's right when the fittings start to "bubble".... it takes SECONDS not hours with this method. Rinse 'em in cold water and buff up a storm. :woot:
