AWESOME looking Camaro!

I have a 67 Firebird Convertible. so I am hoping you can help me out...


Question:
Did you have to mini-tub it "Deep" (going deep into the frame rail) to fit the 335/30/18's on it? Do you have any issues with rubbing? Any tips to someone currently trying to to this with DSE's mini-tubs right now?

Also... if you don't mind... any tips on the Speed Tech Torque Arm? I am doing the same setup in my convertible.

The back spacing is about 5-6", just enough to give me a bit of a lip of 3-4". I don't have the wheel specs right in front of me, but I believe I posted them in this thread at some point.


I went fairly deep I think, I don't have any issues rubbing, even when the rear end is articulating like going over a speed bump or going up my driveway, there's plenty of clearance.

Anything specific that I can answer? The torque arm is fairly straight forward, the only real issue I had was locating the upper mount bar that comes in the kit. It can be a hassle to keep it held up while you weld it in place.

Welp, new updates!

The rear-end is back together and seems to be working a heck of a lot better. I even got a class win the very next event! Gotta love that! It was a bit hectic to say the least, first run I lost a lot of PS fluid after a line came loose, then I had a tie-rod bolt come undone. I ran back to the parts store, came back, reinstalled the nut and blasted off a winning time, all while being helped by fellow racers and even Nate, my competition at the event.

I really do have to tip my cap to everyone who helped me out, it was great to see people come to my aid even if were technically competing. Big thanks and mega-appreciation.

After our class win at the latest AutoX a package was waiting for me on my doorstep with a set of Triple Adjustable Shocks and coils from Ride Tech... missed my window to give them some flogging by virtually 24 hours! Such a bummer.

None the less, Max decided he needed to help daddy assemble them, to which I happily obliged (hey, less work for me, right?!). Slave labor never looked so adorable! HA!

So, I have a few fixes that the Camaro needs, it's running a bit rich right now so I have to look into the computer for that. I have to look at the PS hoses again to make sure those are still tight, I want to paint the trunk, calibrate the speedo again...etc..etc... always a list, just the items change that's all.

Also, it turns out that my first book is slated to be published! The real brains behind the book is Myron Cottrell of TPiS. I just photographed some of it and made sure it was compiled well. If you get a chance, pick one up when it comes out! Look for my second book coming out shortly on a similar but different topic :)
