Geez---let me say, that if there was an award for patience my friend, you would certainly be deserving of the award!!! I think of when this whole thing started for you, and how that went down----man--what a long road you have traveled. Looking forward to hearing about your sleepless nights and seeing the pics of it all coming together. Keep us posted ----

I'm willing to bet that Tony sleeps like a baby these days. The road getting to this point was hard on him that for sure and when he thought he was finished thanks to the disaster, he nearly went nuts! Sure he's excited to see the car and be seen in it....It's really way to cool for a geek like him.

Cool. I haven't been to the shop in a LOOONNNGG time. (I hibernate in the winter.)
I did see Pete on the highway the other day, he wanted to race me, but I didn't want to embarrass him. lolllllllllll..........  :willy:

Things are on hold due to some health issues with Pete's grandson. Tony will be the first to stand up and scream "Family First". It will be done when it's done and we all know Pete won't let it go till it's done right. At the moment we are all more concerned about the health and well being of Pete's grandson and his family than the paint on Karma.

Right on Doug..

I would have to agree 100% also that if anybody on this site deserves there project car done it would be tony and his patient wife who have been in the bad and now good of the hobby, most of us would have gave up along time ago,but again its the people in this hobby that makes it worth it,I can only imagine the happy day that it gets unloaded of in the driveway..100% finished!

Hang in there and keep the great updates coming...were all with you!

Thanks for the kind words guys! I am very excited to get it back, but as you all know it did get a little delayed when little CJ got very sick. He's doing much better now and Pete is back in the shop getting caught up. Hopefully we will be able to send the car home in the very near future!

Jim, Pete isn't building the car 100%, there will still be plenty to do when it hits the west coast! However, the bulk of the work will be behind up! 8+ yrs and counting....yep - it's a true 'project car'!! :lateral:

The last time I saw the car, which was about maybe October/November of last year, it was looking killer!!! (I haven't been to the shop in a loooonngg time.) The paint is sick, the bodywork is sick. Pete and Brian did some killer work on this car.
I can't wait to see it when you finish it off as well Tony!!

bigtyme1 05-12-2010 05:21 PM

Haven't been on this post for a while. Pete are you going to Carlisle this year? Tony, still thinking about coming out but you know the drill, it depends on the Job situation. I'm enjoying the time off my car and trying to take advantage of it.
Though of you today. my son is joining cub scouts next week and he ask me about camping out over night, of course I said. as soon as we get the RV out! no tents for dad. Goint to look into a Large Pop up. Anyway, just thought I'd drop by to see how the car is coming. Looking great guys.

awr68 05-12-2010 06:24 PM

Mark you have to take the kids camping....it's great fun! Give me a call if you need some help RV shopping!

conekiller13 06-14-2010 03:10 PM

R.V.ing is not camping........haven't you ever watched SurvivorMan? Now that's camping.

96z28ss 06-14-2010 03:15 PM

Is there any update on Karma?

awr68 06-14-2010 05:18 PM

Last I heard it was ready for the final round of paint....just waiting for the booth to be available for a few days in a row. Pete has had his guys block out all the clear, re-assemble the car to mask off the SS stripe, and they have spent many hours sanding all the little nooks and crannies on the bottom of the car, engine bay, and trunk....basically all the parts of the car that go GM satin black.

Pete and crew have put an insane amount of time into the project and are getting very close to the final paint and polish! :D

My car originally left two years ago on June 13th... I know it's been a long road for you my friend but it will all be worth it in the end! Just think about when you get it back from paint... how it's going to feel going out into the garage and seeing that perfect body and paint!! Think about how it's going to feel when you can open the garage door, ease into the seat, turn the key and idle it out of the driveway just before you NAIL IT!! :unibrow: Yeah, it will definately be worth the wait my friend!!!

Obviously Pete hasn't had the car for that long....I started the project over 8 years ago.........

greycamaro 06-16-2010 02:09 PM

It's not uncommon for a person to paint a car in this manner then call it good. We are putting a transmission in a chevelle with the same type of job, however this one has a ton of bondo on it.QUOTE=Stuart Adams;168984]Wow, for some person to say I painted that is beyond me. Horrible. In good hands now. Are you guys going with the same color?
greycamaro 06-16-2010 02:16 PM

As a business owner I state because I lower the price doesn't mean I lower the Quality of work. Its my choice to lower the price however I never lower the quality. trust me I have been bitten on the former. he has the car and knows what needs to be done all most of see are pictures. which can be misleading.QUOTE=comp-spec;170767]FIXING ON MY DOLLOR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH STRIPPING THE CAR
