I got a dumb question. What do you do with your vehicles at night? Do the hotels or GG provide security? Always wanted to know that, same with Power Tour. I would be terrified to leave my vehicle overnight in a hotel parking lot!

With a gazillion other nice nice cars in the parking lot, it’s not that big of a deal. On the other hand, when I drive out alone, there is that fear factor. Try to park in a well lit spot, remove the steering wheel, hope the gps is working, the person who parks next to u isn’t a douche and door ding ya. They are supposed to be drivers..lol

Craig --- at a couple of the stops last year -- we had private security and local cops where put on alert. The local cop sat all night at the entrance to the parking lot.

Trust me -- they got this stuff down!! Which is another reason it's so dang fun.

It’s hands down the best thing I’ve done with hot rods.

ADY 09-14-2018 09:58 AM

That is an awesome route, so many great sites to see and drive. Can't wait to see pictures of the truck in action on the mountain roads. Congrats on your upcoming journey and the being able to put the other build BS you've endured out of your mind for a while.

PS: watch out for the buffalo in Yellowstone, they don't give a crap about your new paint job and perfect fenders (had one scratch it's ass on the grill of our F-250 the last trip there).

When you're down to tuning the stereo -- you're getting ready to hit the road.

NOT OVERKILL, just simple and tasteful.. Awesome Mr. Weld!!!!

Che70velle 09-14-2018 07:16 PM

Im a truck guy at heart, and that there is just as sweet as it gets. Very, very tastefully done, and should be extremely driveable. My 14 year old son would say “sick”.
Hope the tour is the best ever for you Greg! Take lots of pics for us, and enjoy the ride.

waynieZ 09-14-2018 08:40 PM

It looks great Greg. I love the inlay on the seat and door panels. They did a amazing job. All we need now is for them to tote it down and hand you th keys!

Thanks guys.....

Funny -- laying here in Scottsdale tonight -- flew down to look at a house or two (actually tried to buy one today but that's another story) -- and I got to thinking that this truck was being built to be my little daily driver in Sun Valley.... Where - quite frankly - there is NOWHERE to drive to... no shows... no car scene -- just a tiny town with very few streets or stop lights. Maybe it was a bit "over the top" for there.... so moving to Scottsdale will be just perfect for it!! LOL

Funny how things ebb and flow..... and somehow things work out in the end.

Personally I'm just so thankful to have CHRA building it - because it sure looks to exceed my expectations.

I will put a tow strap in the little bed coffin for when Charley needs to be dragged off the road.

To think that this was on the H of F tour when it took off from Denver.... then was seen again when we stopped at CHRA last year -- and now it's actually going to be ON the tour.... and amazingly I'm still alive to drive it. Pretty cool really.

You guys remember when Ed and Charley left me this kind note and welcome wave when it first was started. Seems like eons ago doesn't it??

Remember it like it was yesterday, it was the 2nd tour, 2014, just after Ed dragged us over the Colorado's summits (talking about white knuckling it). You were supposed to be there, Big Lil was waiting to surprise you In Pleasanton, but you were too busy building a cave in Sun Valley.

I'm blessed to be apart of this mess. Since i went WAY outa my comfort zone in 2013 when Ed called it the Muscle Car road trip.

Would of never found it, if not for this site.

thedugan 09-15-2018 04:34 AM

That thing is beautiful. BUT - I like your projects that leak oil, misaligned body panels, don't run, etc.. creates more internet drama ;)

Best of luck with it, great to see different kind of projects being worked on and built.

WSSix 09-15-2018 05:31 AM

Love it! Fantastic work! I hope you have a great trip, Greg.

clill 09-15-2018 05:44 AM

I see in 4 years the color hasn't changed.

Man... Greg. I am in love with the colors on this truck! I seriously love the entire look of it!! Have a blast on the hall of fame tour, you have definite reason to be proud!!

SSLance 09-15-2018 09:36 AM

Normal everyday driver around these parts Greg, you'll fit right in. :D

Love how they finished the box...in the bed... Did they put a built in bar in there like in Bret's car? :popcorn2:

waynieZ 09-15-2018 06:20 PM

I hope he's not board when everything works right!

GregWeld 09-15-2018 07:18 PM

Project Twisted Truck is ready to load in the trailer I think....

That interior looks sweet! They did a beautiful job on the whole truck.

glassman 09-15-2018 07:33 PM

Congrats Greg! Can't wait to see it. Their shop is just such a class act in so many ways....

I'm pretty sure that lid is automated as well. Cooler, tool box, luggage carrier. Pick two.

I wanna hear the stereo. I have a Santana SA greatest hits #435 of 1000 (well, its on lone from a buddy to test my Rotel-B&W combo). Loud. Loud.

Wednesday. Can't wait.

Spiffav8 09-15-2018 07:47 PM

Greg the truck looks fantastic. Absolutely love the interior.

Stuart Adams 09-15-2018 08:01 PM

Just took a look at the CHRA site, what a nice shop! No surprise they built a Ridler winner, and the truck they built for you is understandably incredible.

And, right after he (Harold) won. He took it on the inaugural GG road tour, not afraid of bugs and chips. Pretty bad a$$ imo.
