Let me know how it goes!

Hey Andre thanks for the help! They were able to find a shop that could do it by Tuesday morning. That leaves one day for Justin to get everything tack up.

Random updates:

Justin modified the DSE motor mounts to allow for a 2" set back and 1/2" drop.

Dailey's dry sump is in.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psa157937b.jpg

The dry sump tank was being mounted on the front right wheel well. Space was a a premium as the tire was hitting the tank when clocked inward. To gain 1" of clearance between the tank and tire required notching the tank, eliminating the mounting bracket and direct mounting it the frame rail.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6cc9f1b4.jpg

The trans mount needed to move back 2" and 1/2" back also. The was done by simple creating a 1/2" thick spacer that also relocated the mounting points.

In the quest to shed as much weight as possible, our buddies at Derale are helping us out by remaking the steel brackets for the front coolers out of aluminum.

Every ounces helps.

Katech is making a new set of valve covers for G5.R that won't have the bolts for their coil bracket as there's no need. They're also removing the filler caps since it's now dry sump, and lastly, they are also relocating the PCV NPT female fittings to the back of the valve covers, making for a really clean look. They sent us a set of the black anodized billet caps that go around each bolt so that we can strip and finish them to our liking. Part of the reason we didn't want the caps to be black is because the ones on the current carbon valve cover have now turn purple and look like crap.

Here they are before the anodizing remover was poured in. Anybody interested in the product, let me know and I will post the info. It was really good stuff.

The two in the bottom have gone through the stripping process. The two on the top have been brush and hand polished with Mothers metal polish. That's really good stuff.

Lastly, Nathan started on the roof removal.

Here, he's cleaning off the paint to get a better view of where the stop welds are.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psce48fc27.jpg

Next, he did a pilot hole.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4a51c699.jpg

Next, drilling out the stop welds.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1203f966.jpg

Grinding them down...

Finally

Next, cleaning the foam filler and spot welds.

One more for today Marty,

Intake tube was cut to size. XRP oil filters mounted. Having one on each side makes for a really symmetrical look. Still need to figure out best way to mount the breather tank on passenger side by firewall.

Pictures really don't do it justice as theres so much details. You just need to see it 3 dimensionally.

Wow, is right. What a great pic of the engine bay. Gorgeous!

Easy-Off oven cleaner takes anodizing right off. I believe it's the yellow can that you have to use though.
