Looks great!

waynieZ 06-17-2020 04:38 PM

I got a couple more pictures of the wiring, Dakota Digital just about all mounted and wired. Hoses for the A/C done accept for one, needed another piece of hose that's on it's way.

Here's a few pictures of progress.

Here's the A/C hoses going in.

Nice!!

214Chevy 06-18-2020 01:51 PM

Looking good Wayne...

waynieZ 08-19-2020 04:31 PM

I got a few more pictures of the wiring.

We decided to mount the Vapor Worx controller in front of the battery for ease of adjustment if it's ever needed. It comes dialed in for the LSA crate engine.

https://i172.photobucket.com/albums/...pseckbykuu.jpg

Here's the trans controller. It's where the Astro vent came through on the drivers side.

https://i172.photobucket.com/albums/...psit7p9qyl.jpg

Here's the tap shifter, trans gear indacator, DSE electric head light door, & wiper controll boxes mounted over the steering column.

https://i172.photobucket.com/albums/...psywfhxzex.jpg

I stopped by today to bring the Battery, and some other parts and check it out. This is the first time since all the Covid crap started. Everything that was in plastic split loom is now in braided split loom. I'm having him put expanded braid cover on the A/C and heater hoses to help them match. If they pick up too much dust later, I can remove them.

waynieZ 08-19-2020 09:16 PM

Let me try this again!! I had this whole update done and was checking for spelling clicked behind a word to add an s...... wiped the whole this out. I've made dumb mistakes before but this is twice in two days.. Light a candle for me I'm about to launch the keyboard into the fish tank.

OK the wiring for the digital Dakota controllers to the gauges is done accept for re installing it once the wiring behind it for other things is done.
These are earlier pictures.

https://i172.photobucket.com/albums/...pstowvnwvd.jpg

https://i172.photobucket.com/albums/...pshnsnladb.jpg

https://i172.photobucket.com/albums/...pswyczmw4r.jpg

The NuRelic wiring for the power windows is in, the door boots and wiring for the motors is all in. As far as the switches go, I'm putting four in the console so I can control them all. I also picked up two extra with harnesses to install at each rear window. For back seat drivers to cool they're jets.
The console will have power going to the shifter for the buttons for the line lock when I install the solenoid. There will also be Key on power and one always hot too. I'll be installing a couple of phone chargers.

These A/C and heater hoses will be covered in expandable braid to help match the other hoses and wiring

https://i172.photobucket.com/albums/...pse81jytvz.jpg

The dimmer for the Dakota gauges are down where the emergency brake handle would be. You can see it to the lower left, it's aluminum now but will be changed to something the size of a tire valve cover in black.

Coming together and looking good, Wayne.

kwhizz 08-30-2020 05:14 AM

When you finish and drive that combo for the first time..... It's worth every bit of the effort !!!!!!!!!

waynieZ 08-30-2020 10:50 PM

Thanks Ken I can't wait. It feels like it's taken a life time to finish This thing.

One more small thing done.

Hopefully I'll be able to show more things now that were getting close.

waynieZ 09-01-2020 12:26 PM

Another picture showing the complete Battery wiring.

https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds

Vapor Worxs wired direct to Battery with 20 amp fuse. Brian commented how great Carl from Vapor Worxs was with all his questions, he took the time that was needed to complete the install.
To the left is a 150 amp circuit breaker for all power going to the car and next to it is the kill switch to shut power and it has a 7 amp fuse to keep power for ECU Radio and such.

He installed the dash to start setting all the parameters for fans, and such.
Here's the dash temporarily installed. Camera made it look funky.

Here are the heater hoses I had Brian put Expandable braid covering on them to help them blend in, we're doing the same to the A/C hoses.

https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds

That's it for now he said he would try to send more update pictures.

waynieZ 09-08-2020 01:22 PM

Thanks Marty
I just got a couple of pictures of the A/C & Heater hoses installed.

https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds

He told me the passenger fender is back on, and now he's going to install the Dash and the dimmer for the gauges. This cool weather we're getting this week is going to be good for him to work in the garage.

I'm going to try to get my lighting in the garage set then maybe insulation so I'll be ready for the car to come home Fingers crossed.

waynieZ 09-08-2020 05:58 PM

Well I pulled the trigger on a set of Michelin Pilot Supper Sport 245-40-18 and 345-30-19 to go on my Rushforth Livewires full polish 18 x 8 5"bs front and 19 x 12 5" bs. I posted the wheels again because I bought them sooooo! long ago
I figured no one would remember which ones they were.

http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture001.jpg

http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...cture004-1.jpg

They will be in and mounted this week. Then there will be fun pictures of them.

waynieZ 09-16-2020 03:36 PM

Update on my car

Well I got a call about my tires They came in today. I think I'm going to wait to have them mounted. I'm not sure I'll go with full polish, I may powder coat the centers if I can lock down a body color so I can pick an accent color.

Then Brian sent some dash pictures for me to see.

https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds

https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds

And then he put this little note at the bottom.

All done come by and we'll go over what we did and we can make arrangement to get her home!!!

As our friend always said

YEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAW!

214Chevy 09-16-2020 10:00 PM

Great progress Wayne!! I like it...

waynieZ 09-17-2020 03:54 PM

Thanks guys! Interesting couple of days , last night pressure in my chest plucked, poked stabbed and no reason for it to be happening. Got home 3 AM so I stood in bed late, then the wife comes in and wakes me. The guy cutting the grass put a stone through my Tahoe back window. They make a pretty puzzle when that happens. Then some good news my tires were ready for me to come get' so tomorrow when the truck is done I'll go pick them up.

I at least got a picture of them

https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds

Now I need to decide if I want the wheel centers powder coated so I can have them mounted. I need a rendering so I can decide on body color.

waynieZ 09-25-2020 12:19 PM

waynieZ 09-25-2020 07:35 PM

Hell yeah!

Kharp 10-08-2020 12:58 PM

Overdue comments :)

Wayne thanks for your comments on my build. I have been reading through yours and just wanted to say WOW! You have faced some major obstacles over the years like me and are still at it. A true test of patients and perseverance, but thankfully the car is now home once again. Great attention to detail! I've owned a 69 Camaro and have always loved that body style and yours is going to be top notch. I will be following your build as I continue to work toward starting my engine for the first time. Like KWhizz said "it will all be worth it on the first drive".

paulk68 10-09-2020 02:38 AM

Looking good Wayne!! I am so glad others take just as long as I do on these projects LOL. I love my ring brother hood hinges. Now you have me wanting the trunk too :waveflag:

waynieZ 10-09-2020 06:28 PM

Thanks Kharp
Paul It's a sickness! lol Keep picking away!

Rodknock 01-16-2021 09:36 AM

Amazing build Wayne!! Where you at with it right now?

waynieZ 01-16-2021 10:59 AM

I'm close to checking all connections, install fluid and attempt to start. I have different coil overs for the car in the rear. I'll list the other ones for sale. trying to decide if I should go chicane front coil overs or DSE coil over Kit for stock subframe. I haven't had must time to work on it. Love your project.

Thanks buddy. I understand the time issue. I decided to have anal glaucoma today. Couldn't see my ass going to work. Trying to get the RS headlight stuff fitted.

Finally getting a Lift!

If the sun doesn't fall from the sky, or like the last one I was going to get ( Oh I forgot my cousin wanted it!) YUP. I'll be getting a used 7000 lb BackYard Buddy lift installed next Tuesday!! 5-8 year old. I've looked forever and finally found this on from a company that sells new lifts they are installing it. It has some rust on the floor pads and a little on some hardware that I'll take care of when it gets here.

syborg tt 03-10-2021 12:06 PM

Nice find you are going to love having a lift in your garage.

waynieZ 03-10-2021 08:24 PM

Thanks guys it's just in time to fit up the exhaust. I've got a guy ( @akuma.fab) He's going to install Speedtech Chicane coilover bracket on my Sub frame and I got some Ridetech coilovers for the from to match the ones in the rear. It will probably go to him in three weeks . He'll also tig up the exhaust and weld the DSE brackets from the frame connectors to the sub, and anything else I can think of. He does beautiful Tig welds. You should check him out on Instagram.

waynieZ 03-16-2021 10:53 PM

This is where you car stays until your body builder nephew come to rescue you and help push the car up those short ramps on your new lift. That's my Green Tahoe across the street, I've had it since 1999.
