Love how they finished the box...in the bed... Did they put a built in bar in there like in Bret's car? :popcorn2:

I have a 6 foot hooka pipe that pops up out of there --- since I don't drink or smoke.... It's just there to store my drugs.

Trust me. I thought about making them even more obvious......

See it finished for the first time today around 2.... and since I’m in Salt Lake City way ahead of Lillard... I’ve had time to repay the spray painted message he left on my door 4 years ago. I’m sure one of the stops on the tour has a buffer and some compound.

I sure hope this thing makes it east of the Mississippi at some point so I can check it out in person...

The truck is about 200% BETTER than my wildest expectations!! It's an OMG over the top fit and finish -- and I'm still soaking in all the details they did. Can't speak high enough to the craftsmanship!

Drives like a brand new S Class Mercedes....

In Jackson Hole for the night -- Day 1 of H of F tour in the books!

If you EVER EVER get a chance to drive on highway 89 south of Jackson Hole (Wyoming).... you would believe the spectacular color of turquoise of Bear Lake! Pictures can't capture (cell phone from moving car - Thanks to Paulette Tibor)....

Glad to hear the first day was a success. Enjoy! That is beautiful.

DBasher 09-20-2018 07:48 PM

Hell yes, dude! 4 years of good times, bad times and a bunch of BS in between and you’re out enjoying the ride with friends and beautiful country, absolutely perfect!

GregWeld 09-21-2018 08:06 PM

Yellowstone and Old Faithful and all that today ---- and OMG what a perfect time of year for a tour thru the mountains!! Fall colors are spectacular -- red and yellow and light greens and dark greens --- and great cars and great friends!!

Follow along on Face(F)Book --- on the GoodGuys page.... they have some of the best pics there. Hard to drive and take pics too -- and much more fun just to soak it all in.

Considering I was supposed to be D E A D after the 2016 tour --- I think "the man upstairs" was saving some of the best days up for me to enjoy! Just an amazing tour Ed Capen planned once again. I can't imagine the hours he's spent finding these roads and putting all of this together!

WSSix 09-22-2018 06:13 AM

That's great to hear, Greg. Glad the truck is beyond your expectations.

If you get a chance to look at the car in person...….. The Detail work that Harold's crew put into this car is beyond any level of Quality anyone would expect..... Every time you look at the car you see something else and are blown away by the thought that was put into this work of art.....Nutz!!!

gofastwclass 09-22-2018 08:19 PM

So happy that you are enjoying the final product of this build. This has to be excellent therapy.

65_LS1_T56 09-23-2018 03:35 PM

Happy for you Greg! NO BAD DAYS! #fcancer!

ur-n-8 09-23-2018 06:11 PM

I got to see it today, the Good Guys tour was passing through my home town. The truck is very nice I wish the sun would have been out to appreciate even more. I got to meet Greg and it seemed like everyone was having a good time. Best wishes for the rest of the trip.

69hugger 09-25-2018 04:21 PM

Well? How’s that rolling stereo sounding?
Can you & Rudy still hear, or are you using hand signals now?

mdprovee 09-26-2018 07:03 AM

Glad things worked out here for you. Enjoy the crap out of it!!!

vdrivinmike 09-26-2018 07:59 AM

Looks awesome, Greg. I love it. Have a great trip. And give us a sampling of that stereo!

SSLance 09-26-2018 09:30 AM

Had to laugh at the true daily driver status seen on Speedways live video.

Everyone's floor mats and towels stretched out across the rails of Greg's truck bed drying out... :D

Love it Greg! Man its a good looking truck!

GregWeld 09-27-2018 08:22 AM

Group of us took a day off from the “free food”. Thank goodness Bret V knew a spot (prime steaks) and we had to do the “Charley wave”! LOL. Texted it to him. His response was classic!!

I guess from that picture Charle's still number one in your book!

Che70velle 09-27-2018 01:52 PM

Awesome stuff Greg! Stoked that you guys are having a blast!
Anyone else notice that Greg’s new “girlfriend” is shorter than him?

gofastwclass 09-27-2018 07:02 PM

Wish I would have known you guys were coming by Pete and Jakes. That place isn't far from my house!

The Charley salute. :lmao: I'm glad you are all having a great time. :)

xplantdad 09-28-2018 02:03 PM

Glad that you had a great time Greg! Looking forward to seeing you when you get to AZ :)

GregWeld 09-28-2018 04:03 PM

Well.... we drove 9 days. Almost 3,000 miles and without a single hiccup!

In Fort Worth now. And ready for the show tomorrow.

Anyone coming by —— I’ll be parked in the “Builders Choice” area rather than with the road tour parking. I’d like to at least be considered in the Early Truck of the year competition..... and I’m jetting out Sunday.

Awesome, see you tomorrow morning.

Nice seeing you again today Greg. Truck was beautifully built as all CHRA cars are.

Awesome. Sick truck. Gets my vote.

GregWeld 09-29-2018 07:45 PM

So --- I've never ever been a "car show" guy --- and I've never been a trophy guy. I've won a few -- most hit the trash can before I left the parking lot. Sorry -- In my mind, I've driving the trophy... not being a snob here -- just being honest. Driving 'em is what turns my crank....

I was "hoping" with this truck that I might be at least "considered" for an early truck "finalist"... Mostly I really I wanted to win it -- not for the "prestige" or that part - but because it comes with a Snap-On tool box.... and I'm a tool whore... so thought that would be like winning the Super Bowl for me.

No such luck -- they picked another very cool truck.

But I did get a "Pro's Pick" AND a GoodGuys Gazette Full Feature Award.... and you only can get ONE award -- so I had to make a choice. I chose the Full Feature award - and they're doing the photoshoot in the morning. To me - that's a killer award - because my kids / wife will have the truck and a magazine article with all the details and story etc to go along with it.

All in all it's just been another great trip with people that (after 4 years of doing these tours with them) I call friends.... and traveling the backroads of America in cool old cars - and seeing cool stuff - and going places you'd never ever go to for any reason... that's the best part of this whole deal. Miles make me smile.... and seeing my friends is even better.

The truck will go back to CHRA for the most minor clean up of some paint chips --- adjustment of the electronic transmission (I want it to shift "sportier) - and a shock and spring change.... chassis came with AFCO's -- and springs -- and with the trunk in the bed and two guys and "stuff" -- it needs better and different than what the chassis ships with. Standard adjustments after 3,000 miles of "thinking about it". I'd call that a pretty damn successful project build. If I live long enough to build another "whatever" CHRA will be handling that. They've just been a pleasure to work with - and I'm happy that they're also friends.

I fly home to Sun Valley in the morning --- and get in my pickup (F-450, not this truck) and drag my trailer which is packed -- to Scottsdale...
