It was great finally meeting you in person and seeing the progress, hope you can make it back to Scottsdale in the Spring. I want to see the car completed, it's really turning out nice!

Jack

Meeting you and getting to see your car was a huge bonus. One of my favorite builds. We are talking about coming down in the Spring. I'll keep you in the loop.

Thank You!! There's still a bit of work to do. Like patching the trans tunnel. Right now it has a piece of cardboard wrapped in Dynomat filling the hole! :headspin: It also looks like I'll have to pull the vent windows and replace the rubber. The stuff I used doesn't fit very well and there is a ton of wind noise.

Still laughing about it, but it add to the experience. Driving the car is a blast right now. Getting it all sorted out and dialed in will be fun.

I had an absolute blast hangin with y’all this past weekend, the car looked and sounded great finished or not. Also, good for you for setting the goal of making the weekend with the car a priority and actually making it happen....I’m sure our buddy would be proud, what’d he always say? Just get out and pick up a tool!

Such an amazing week at Sema with dad’s 40. Even though Curtis and I couldn’t make the road trip back home we made the most of the day @ Optima. So much fun being in his garage working on the camero to get it out there.

He did look at me to tell me that he could just hear Dad yelling at him to put the seat belts in, but I called him a ***** and we rolled without them.

I couldn’t be more thankful for this community and for dad bringing me around everyone.

Damn, that sounds good, Mike said it was pretty loud w/o interior, how is it now with the interior installed?

It was like riding inside a beer can without the interior. I still don’t have a full interior, but as I get more and more in there it’s improving rapidly. The Dynamat and Dynaliner make a big diff! You can actually carry on a conversation while driving now. I’m not going to run a rear seat, but whatever I come up with will be well insulated.

Spiffav8 02-16-2020 04:13 PM

Struck up a conversation with a guy named Chris at a local car show. He asked if he could shoot the car and I agreed. Pictures turned out pretty decent if you ask me.

May I ask what steering wheel adapter that is ?

Spiffav8 02-18-2020 09:46 PM

Thank You. As you all know, I had a lot of help with the build. Jim doing the paint and body to an over the top level, Jeff advising/assisting/teaching on assembly and Mike on wiring/plumbing/etc. I'm basically just an idea guy who has some kick azz friends.

That's just Eastwoods Hot Rod satin black. If you use it, painting everything at the same time is a good idea. There are very small difference in a few areas due to not doing this. You really have to look though.

Those are from Ring Brothers as are the hood hinge, door strikers, shifter and cigarette "Eject" button. You'll finish it! Hopefully we will be seeing your photos like these here sooner than later.

That setup is by NRG. I like it for a few reasons. Taking the steering wheel with you is a theft preventative, The steering wheel stands off the dash perfectly (for me) and I don't need the tilt (though I have it), You can set the steering wheel on the dash at car shows and listen to people make comments like "It's a total race car".

slimjim 02-19-2020 12:37 AM

Hey man, that was way back in the 2000's. :D If he goes out and beats it like a red headed step child, the trophy is his.

P.S. I'd buy a pile o chit race car for that. Not dissimilar to the blue one in the for sale section. HA HA

I am tickled to see that our base model hydraulic brake assist unit graces your awesome engine compartment as nicely as it does. Any feedback as to how you like the braking?

I love it! Far better than expected and the pedal feel is spot on. Went to one of the local "show and shines" and got a million questions about it. My answer is always "just buy. You won't regret it". :D

I'll have to dig deep into the pile of paper work. If I find them, I'll PM them to you.

Took some digging but that's the same as what I have. Ordered from THMotorsports.com.

Did I get this info from you? :EmoteClueless: They did sit on the shelf from July 2014 till October 1026.

It's super handy for working on the car, getting in and out, good theft preventative and kinda cool. I'll set the steering wheel on the dash at events. People seem to get a kick out of it.
