Yes his fuel got WAY hot on last years PT...he had to put some turndowns on it to solve the problem. Basically you don't want the heat of the exhaust hitting the fuel tank......

Interesting... never knew that. What were the symptoms causing him to discover that?

We will have to check on how close it all is and keep this in mind.... turndowns were the original plan...

The car is looking awesome. Just one comment on the exhaust as well. You shouldn't blow that kind of heat at the rear brakes either. You spent money to help dissipate heat and now you're adding it back in. If you want the sound use turn downs. JMO. Get some video up of that monster running.

Completely agree on the exhaust. Dump it.

Thanks Chad. I didn't consider that aspect of heat on the brakes. Good point. I think we will change it out. I think it is only tacked up for now.

Video coming very soon! :)

he had the mufflers pointing straight back to the tank; no turndowns or turn outs. Since they were mounted in the normal area in front of the rear end you wouldn't think it would be an issue, but on long freeway runs with the hot exhaust pointed straight at the stainless tank it got so hot his fuel pressure and pump were having issues. He added some turndowns on the Tour and it completely eliminated the problem.

Good to know, and a simple fix/preventative measure!

thanks

A couple different ways to finish the exhaust off here... I think I like the straight down version, and maybe trimming the end of the dump as it looks to hang a bit lower than the rest of the exhaust. Thoughts?

Some IC shots... just gotta get the 4.25" oval to 3" round transition figured out.. We have a plan for that.
