Hey John, Looks like you are going to use a carbon Hood too, will the Heat from the TT's & exhaust headers distort the hood as well, just wondering, project is looking good:thumbsup:

If the hood has not had any additional post curing since shipping from Anvil the heat from a regular n/a engine will start to cause distortion.

I think Anodized would be tough on such a large part. You could get blotching.

My powder coater does an almost clear, not quite clear but black. It really pops on polished parts. Similar to what Rushforth does to his rims with the smoke finish. I have been trying to find pictures.

Just info on the above. As the exhaust exits the body work on indy cars (dallara this year) it exits thru a removable/replaceable carbon insert. It's removable because at the end of the race the resin has all burned away and most teams pitch them in the trash. But since they are 700 bucks each, are serialized and have a RF tracking tag installed in the part so you can't replicate them yourself (or sell them cheaply to others) - some teams will attempt to soak the area with resin, vacuum bag the part and refinish the part to be reused. I have no experience with F1 cars in this situation. Not arguing with anyone - just trying to be helpful to the OP. Thx and let us know how it goes !
