Wow, impressive on two levels. One that track is amazing. and Two... you took down a big black ? Pantera or GT at 4:50. You were going so fast I couldn't tell. Loved your lines as you warmed up. Could tell you are getting pretty comfy with that yellow bee.

you know, maybe you should post this in the Button Willow smack talk. Might shut a few comments up. lol

Nice work and proud to see ya out on the track.

#2 - Sorry for the squished bug guts.:wow:

But this will show you my line - not that it's worth anything.

Might scare Todd... so be forewarned buddy!

Thanks Brett!

I've learned not to go out on cold tires and be the busy bee... and first lap out is always on yellow. If you watch - I picked up the pace after the green dropped. If I could have posted the video in full -- I did pass the two cars that I was reeling in right there at the end. There's just something about chasing down a car ahead.... I don't know what it is - but I got it bad!

I'm letting the smack talk flow over there.... and keeping my mouth shut - thus keeping the expectations low.

The new Mustang Jack built (the original builder of my car) was running 2:08's -- and everyone said the 'bypass' was a 4 second difference - so he'd be running 2:04's

He has KILLER brakes -- HUGE tires (315's all around) -- is light (think carbon fiber roof and doors etc) -- the car is set up -- and the driver is experienced (sounds like a line from Jimi Hendricks) So if you get to 2:04 you are smokin' hot!!

One of the very experienced drivers and set up guys took Chets Mustang out (similar to Charley and my cars) - granted it's not as powerful as mine - and might not be set up as well etc (but it might be set up better? Who knows).... but think Mary Pozzi -- Kevin is going to wring out a time in it... and he was running 2:16's. So I was happy with my 2:10/2:12/2:14 laps

Well it appears I did my math wrong. 2.5 seconds will get me into the 2:04's. Easily obtainable on a set of Hoosiers. I'm pretty sure with the changes I made this time around I should be able to do it on my 100 tread wear tires.

I hadn't touched my alignment in 6 years and the car was very neutral. When the alignment guys gave me the original figures after recently aligning my car I told them, "That cant be right" and blamed it on the new lower control arms and vette wheels with the spacers and changed from what I originally had to what someone had recommended. Obviously that didn't work.
I also raised my roll center....after remeasuring I found that I had the watts pivot about 1 1/2" to low.
We'll see on the 19th.

FUNNY! I'm afraid to touch the Mutt! I might mess it up! I'm just going to change oil and brake pads - and grease the wheel bearings for as long a I can still make a lap!

Don't you have a birthday party to go to or sumthin?!?! :D

It's really just more of the same - no drama - just runnin' 'em down... reel in whoever is ahead, catch 'em and then slide on by...

Have to say - this was my second time out - and being familiar with the car - and the track - made it far nicer to just get out there and log some laps. I kept hoping someone would come out and play that was faster so I could go to school on 'em but it didn't happen. I really don't know enough to know if my line is right - or if I could get away with deeper breaking etc - so it would be nice to have someone runnin' out front.

Next time we get Mark out here for an event at that track take a few laps with him in your car. Great teacher, very patient, and will show you the line. He's run several sessions at that track in that car.

Get the alignment specs and tuck them away just in case you need them some day. Its a good thing I saved my last alignment printout.
